Thanks Punkdoc. Ā He was going fairly well with the lead lighting, but he’s had to let it go with all the farm life jobs to do. Maybe one day he’ll get back into it. Ā I hope Moira keeps going with it.

    Good morning allĀ  :) ā˜•ļøĀ
Thats lovely @Pat E  … stained glass really does lift the spirit doesn’t it … no wonder it’s used so much in churches.Ā
We need to be up and about very soon … the decorator is coming to finish off the bathroom at 9am. Ā Thankfully son doesn’t have to be at work until after lunchtime today.Ā

Thank you @Pat E It’s been a busy year … but we’re so glad we can do it … after all, we so nearly lost him … I know you’ll understand what that means better than most ((hugs)) … but it will be good when he’s able to get a place of his own … maybe in the spring šŸ¤ž Apart from anything else his commute to work is very tiring and his job is very demanding … he needs to live nearer his office.Ā

Yes Dove we’ve been thinking of Susan for the last couple of days because it was the anniversary of her dying. (2009). Ā  It doesn’t really get any easier, but it’s no use whinging about her passing.I had a good chat to my other daughter on the day. šŸ˜ That was good.Ā

The decorator was here on the dot of 9am. Nice young man … it was his stepdad who did the grouting the other day … we’ve used them
    before.Ā

    My sympathies, @Pat E.Ā
I do love all the stained glass, very impressed at the skill involved and such lovely results.
@Lizzie27, very glad all went well with the crown preps.Ā

I tried out my new driving / distance glasses this morning. OH was driving, but it was still half dark and very dim in the tree lined roads, so I was able to test them out from the safety of the passenger seat. I’m really pleased with them! Everything was much clearer and well focussed, especially oncoming headlights, which were quite blurred and fuzzy without them. The optician understood exactly what I wanted and the prescription does the job perfectly.
They seemed a bit odd the first time I put them on, but having tried them in the right circumstances, I quickly got used to them, and I think I’ll be wearing them all the time in the car.
And all for the princely sum of Ā£15! I ignored the designer labels and went straight to the cheap end of the racks, expecting to pay Ā£39. However, they had a frame for Ā£13 and another for Ā£15, both including single vision prescription lenses, so I splashed out the extra two pounds! They look quite good too (although I do suit most glasses) but I wasn’t too worried about the appearance. I’ll only be wearing them for driving, so no one will see them unless they are sitting on the bonnet of the car. I was offered an anti glare coating, but that was an extra Ā£35, so I decided to try them without ( I could have it added later if I want it) and so far, so good. I do have mild cataracts forming, but nowhere near bad enough to require treatment yet.

Morning all, not a good night, don't quite know why as the painkillers I took for the jaw/teeth pain worked ok. I get occasional nights like that when I can't sleep. Of course we then overslept till 9 ish so had to get going in a hurry as the cleaners were expected.

I'm marooned in my armchair at the moment while they clean around me! Think I'm going to try having a fortnightly clean instead of every week. Must stop being lazy!

We have sunshine at the moment after a very wet and windy evening. OH is on his way to the hospital for a routine check-up, so I'm going to plough on with my chair renovations when the cleaners have left.

Glad the new glasses are good @Ergates. I don't do much driving in the dark anymore but your driving glasses sound brilliant.

We've just realized we've got to get some paint for the hall ready for next week when the refigured stairs are installed by OH's nephew. He's having to install a new handrail as well so that wall will need patching and then painting. We won't be able to match the original cream paint so are going to go for a slightly darker shade I think, maybe pale coffee. Hope your redecoration goes well @Dovefromabove. Household maintenance seems never ending at the moment doesn't it?

Wow @Ergates - that's an absolute bargain!  Our local optician is very good, but very pricy.  Having forked out £££s for our most recent glasses I don't think I dare step in there to enquire about glasses for driving at night.  Instead I try to avoid it as I hate the glare from oncoming headlights.  Even roads I know seem narrower on my side at night than during the day.

Our meeting last night was dominated by two people who had a lot to say for themselves.Ā  Then complained that the meetings go on too long!
