@Hostafan1, years ago I had chronic diarrhoea and my GP said it would get better. I lost about 2 stone and got quite weak. Then that GP went on holiday and OH called another GP who was furious with the first GP who hadn't even asked for a specimen. Turned out it was an amoeba, more commonly found in Africa. Second GP treated it with the right sort of antibiotic and it cleared up.
It has tipped with rain here.
We've been to the SM. We have got through a lot of fruit, veg, milk and bread in the last week.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
That's not good news @Hostafan1 or for you @punkdoc, hope the flooding in the garden hasn't got worse since you posted.
What a disappointment @Busy-Lizzie. We've also had our new driveway postponed for a week or so - I rather thought it might be so not surprised.
I had such a busy morning I now feel quite exhausted. Had a text reminder late yesterday afternoon of an appointment for 10.05 am this morning with a nurse clinician but had no idea of what it was for although I assumed it was to discuss my steroid regime since I'd queried that the day before. Battled right across town through the traffic/roadworks and just got there on time. Whilst I was waiting to see the nurse clinician, I received a text from a GP in the same building about my steroid dosage - which really confused me so I queried this with the receptionist. Turned out that I was due to have the MMR vaccine! Really! I'd never had the usual childhood vaccinations as my father didn't believe in them. When I saw the nurse clinician, she'd explained the GP had flagged this up when going through my medical history when he diagnosed me with Polymyalgia. The surgery had had to refer this to Public Health England for advice in view of my advanced age and steroid usage which had taken 3 months. The upshot was when the nurse explained all the various side effects etc etc I declined the jab so a rather wasted appointment/trip.
After that I went to the big S/M to do a little shopping, met a friend for restorative coffee & cake at the nearby GC, where I also had the car washed, called in to collect a light fitting at the electrical wholesalers then picked up prescriptions from the pharmacy and the morning paper on the way home! Phew.
Back home, after a late lunch, I had to ring the surgery again as I'd had a second text from the GP which I didn't quite understand and have now had to make further appointments for blood tests etc and another telephone consultation.
Hope the bad weather is lessening and it doesn't upset any weekend plans.
Just seen that our nearest motorway junction has been shut all day (bad accident) which probably has caused chaos. Hope nobody seriously hurt.
But what are those @Hostafan1 and what is he doing about it???? Stay safe in this weather please everyone, it's really serious in Suffolk and I'm sure in a lot of other places.
What is Cryptosporidium
Cryptosporidium is a parasite (a tiny organism) that causes an infection called
cryptosporidiosis affecting people and farm animals. Cryptosporidium is found in lakes,
streams and rivers, untreated drinking water and sometimes in swimming pools.

I've just spoken to the Doc. He's checking back with "microbiology" and he's calling me back later.
