What a nightmare, @Dovefromabove. So relieved you were both safe, and finally got home. How wonderful of the people who helped you in your hour of need. With all thatās going on in the world, itās so heartening to read that there are people out there for whom kindness and willingness to help comes naturally. Does give hope for the human race. Hope you are able to keep your GP updated on your progress, @Hostafan1? You might need some extra assistance to ensure you donāt get dangerously dehydrated, and to keep your electrolytes balanced. Maybe speak to 111, or call your GP in the morning?
Gosh, what a tale of events @Dovefromabove but so lucky being able to sleep in one of those beautiful log cabins. I hope the cars are OK. Glad you arrived home safely in the end.
We had a delicious Sunday lunch cooked by Son 2, pumpkin and hazelnut soup, then roast beef with veg, then compote of apples and bananas and homemade biscuits.

Glad you are both OK @Dovefromabove. Sorry to hear you're still poorly @Hostafan1. Sad to hear about your garden @punkdoc - hope it recovers better than you fear.Ā
I hope everyone else is out of harm's way - we got off lightly down here - just a regular storm.Ā

I'm sure that all who love you to bits are mightily relieved you and your son are safe, @Dovefromabove, as am I, as an occasional poster and reader of everything! x
Goodness me @Dovefromabove, that was some adventure - one Iām sure you wonāt wish to repeat. You must be so relieved to be safely home. Itās heartening to hear of so much kindness from strangers. Thereās so much that is bad in the world, but thereās so much that is good, too, and you were lucky to experience the latter from those very kind people.
Itās a lovely part of the country @Red maple ⦠itās the area where I and my children grew up, and most small villages there are still proper communities where folk look after and care about each other.Ā

Goodness me @Dovefromabove what a terrifying experience for you and Rob, so glad to read that you made it safely home in the end. The help and kindness you both received really warms one's heart. Any news about the cars yet? Happy Birthday @Nanny Beach, hope you enjoyed your special day, but please take it easy for a little while, the effects of covid can take sometime to disperse.
