Crikey @tui34 thank goodness it didn't hit you! I always hang back when I end up behind the huge log lorries and can't overtake. We had plenty of rain in the night but you wouldn't think it to look at the ground today. the sun's out and it's quite pleasant.
I'm very glad you came through those horrors safely @Dovefromabove
Don't worry @coccinella if there was anything very serious in your blood tests I expect the doctor would have contacted you as soon as he/she got the results. Best wishes anyway.
My best wishes also for your future happiness @D0rdogne_Damsel Today is the first day of the rest of your life (as the old cliche goes).
Here Sunday morning brought the first frost.
Stay safe out there ladies and gentlemen.
"If you have a garden in your library, we will want for nothing" Marcus Tullius Cicero (in a letter to Marcus Terentius Varro, 46 B.C.)
My last day off today so very pleased itâs dry so I could do some bits I the garden - not much, mainly sweeping and drinking coffee.
We have a de-humidifier being delivered today, so Iâm hoping that will help keep the house dry, thus making any heating used more efficient. We borrowed one the other week and were so impressed.Â
Well, it seems we are still in a period of worries and incidents on here, so take care all and hoping for calmer times.Â
Afternoon all, again we've had a rather pleasant day so far, although I can see rain clouds appearing over the hills in the distance. I popped back to B&Q this morning as I didn't like the paint colour I bought yesterday. Have now got 2 more tins in a slightly darker shade which will have to do!@tui34.
I'm not surprised you still feel shaken @Dovefromabove, that was a very nasty experience by the sound of it.
Glad the stream hasn't overflooded at the moment @punkdoc, I don't know the layout of your garden, is there room to make a sunken bog garden next to it for future flood escape? I also wondered if you had invested in a flood prevention barrier for your back door as I believe you said the water had got to the steps last time round?
I'd better get on and finish the remaining chairs this afternoon as it will be a busy day tomorrow getting prepared for the new staircase. We will be marooned downstairs for most of the day I expect so will have to dig out the camping Portapotty!
I've just had a very unpleasant and painful time with my dentist son. In fact it wasn't the back molar that a bit chipped off that was causing the problem, it was the wisdom tooth next door that should probably have come out years ago. Son had told me that I should have had it out by an oral surgeon in hospital but they have long waiting lists and today it was urgent. He hadn't wanted to do it because I'm his mother so it would be traumatic for both of us. It still hurt after the anaesthetic so after a double dose he took the nerve out then managed to get the tooth out. I have dense bone and healthy gums so the tooth was well stuck in. Anyway it's done now, thank goodness.
I have to take 2 antibiotics, Spiramycine/metronidazole. Metronidazole (Flagyl) is also used for tummy parasites and diverticulitis. It's the one I suggested to @Hostafan1.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
My my all the trials and tribulations seem to continue for many of you  let's all hope we can get all the bad stuff out of the way now, and have a good end of the year. (Note how I avoided the C word đ ). After a very damp miserable start it's turned out very nice here today, still trying to finish clearing the half plot, the weather is not helping.  I meant to say days ago that we haven't planted any new bulbs yet either, partly as the summer displays in pots are showing little signs of ending  partly because of being busy with plots. Garden Which did a trial  planting a few bulbs of the same varieties  each month all the way into January -February. Their conclusion was that they will still flower, but best by mid December at latest, so if you haven't been able to do yours yet don't panic đ.Â

Hope the rain is not too serious @punkdoc. And that @Hostafan1 is beginning to see his way out of the woods.
Hugs to @coccinella. Â
