Oooops, I'm in trouble. I brought some of my unusual Begonias into the dining room at the weekend, due to the frost, and this morning there were slug trails on the carpet.
    oops indeed.

Been there done that had the flea in my ear as a result.Ā  Caterpillars in the cabbage don't go down that well either.šŸ˜…

    Afternoon all,Ā

Pleased to report that I collected my glasses from Tesco at Shaftesbury this morning, quite a relief as they are my most expensive pair. They are now safely on a neck chain so I don't lose them again. Took a two and a half hour round trip though but I did enjoy it, a mix of dual carriageways and country A roads across the edge of Salisbury Plain so quite hilly in places with beautiful views.Ā  Treated myself to a quick coffee and snack in Shaftesbury proper as their Tesco doesn't have a cafe but didn't have time to look round the town.

Back home I had a late lunch with OH and then tackled the fourth dining room chair.

Well done @didyw, glad it was a great success.Ā

We frequently have snail trails on the carpet in the porch as they're after the bird feed we keep in there. Goodness knows how the slugs get in, think they are the tiny black ones.

What a relief to get your glasses back, @Lizzie27, although I don’t envy you the cross country trek.Ā
I got my new pair of driving glasses on Saturday, but it’s been so sunny that I haven’t been able to test them out. Gloomy and overcast on the way home from the shops this evening, so I popped them on, and they really make a difference. I have early cataracts as well, not bad enough to treat yet, but enough to make me less confident in poorer visibility situations. According to the optician, my eyesight is perfectly legal for driving without any glasses(!) but I’m certainly happy to have my vision a bit sharper than it was.
@didyw, a friend was admitted to hospital following a heart attack. Despite feeling perfectly ok, they kept her in to have an angiogram, and despite telling her every day that she was on the day’s list, she kept being bumped off by emergency cases, and had to stay in for over ten days. She asked if she could go home until they had a space for her, but nothing doing, got very bored.Ā
OH really enjoyed his angiogram. Very reluctant to go, but relieved that it was completely painless, and when I’d persuaded him to look at the screen, he was amazed to see the heart valves flapping away! He thought they’d be a lot more complicated than that.
Got the quote for the gutter cleaning and it was only a little bit more than I’d guessed, and after speaking to a neighbour, less than she pays for a smaller, Ā single storey property. He may be able to book us in at the end of the week as he has a cancellation.
We also ordered a replacement radiator yesterday. Two days delivery, and the email advised that we would be contacted today to arrange the date. Just getting ready to go out and I got a text from DHL to say it would be arriving in an hour! Less than 24 hours after ordering, but I would have appreciated a bit more warning! It’s lucky we hadn’t gone out early as we normally do.Ā
Planning a quiet day home tomorrow, hiding from whichever storm it is we are expecting this time. Radiator to fit, and a splash back to install behind the hob.Ā
    Keep warm and dry, everyone.

Thanks @Ergates, interesting comments about your new driving glasses. I've been wondering whether I should get a pair, I have an early cataract in one eye apparently but it's difficult to tell whether it's affecting my eyesight or not at the moment.

Getting a bit nervous about my dental treatment tomorrow, sure I'll be fine, especially with the sedative but will be glad when it's all over.

My sister was due to have a camera down her throat this morning as she has had a persistent cough for years. As luck would have it, she's got a stinking cold so had to postpone the appointment. Fortunately they've been able to reschedule it for next week.

I'm glad you got your glasses back @Lizzie27 and that Charlie got his case and new clothes back @D0rdogne_Damsel.Ā Ā

I have an appointment with dentist son next week.

A log delivery arrived today so there will be stacking tomorrow.

It's been cloudy but very warm. I weeded the donkey fence bed today. I started with 6 foxgloves in that bed, now there are lots.

Morning everyone. Town day today so it should be more social than home.Ā
Maybe a BLT roll and a milkshake. 😜

    Morning all

Not too bad a night, considering the toothache. Didn't help that I turned unawares on to the tooth side.
Best wishes for today's dentist trip @Lizzie27. Sorry about your friend @Ergates, the thing is that however boring it is for her she's better off in situ,Ā  so to speak, just in case. Best wishes to her.
Enjoy your day out @Pat E

Got all the shopping done Coccinella and glad to be home again. Ā  Not a bad day, all told. No rain or wind and temps mild. What more could you ask for? Ā Aldi is full of treats for this time of year. šŸ‘šŸ‘

    Good morning all 😊 ā˜•ļøĀ
Dry, breezy and 12C here in Norfolk. A slightly restless night … I might have sabotaged myself by overindulging with the mussels šŸ˜…Ā
