We go back to France for a month tomorrow. Today I'll be changing the bedding, finishing the ironing, tidying up, emptying the kitchen compost bucket and bins, etc.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Morning all, we had heavy rain last night as well @Pat E so everything looks rather soggy and grey, probably not a gardening day! It's still quite mild though. Glad your dams are being refilled.
Had a bit of a disaster this morning, I've lost (eaten!) one side of a molar and only the filling and front bit of tooth is left. Probably cracked it on a nut in my cereal. However it's not painful (yet) and I've managed to get an emergency appointment with my dentist later this morning to have a look at it. I rather think it's going to be a very expensive repair/crown/implant.
OH has an appointment with his surgeon later to see about his 2nd hip op. We hope it's not going to be a long wait as it's getting quite painful now but who knows.
Looks a gorgeous place @D0rdogne_Damsel, enjoy your full body scrub, I do envy you. I had a chocolate mud scrub once at the Aquae Sulis spa in Bath, absolute bliss although trying to wash it all off afterwards was very difficult.
Glad you are enjoying your holiday @D0rdogne_Damsel, though I don't think I'd like a body scrub. Not sure about massages either. Too self conscious and not very touchy feely. The sea looks lovely though and the garden.

Off for a walk this morning. Bit wet underfoot, but we need an antidote to our day in town yesterday. Car service went well, nothing untoward found. Very pleased with the independent garage we are now using. Half the price of the main dealer, and we spoke to the mechanic who did the work. I was able to drop the car in at a civilised time to avoid the rush hour, and they phoned us at 2.30pm to say it was ready. The main dealer was never so accommodating, drop the car before nine, pick it up before it shut, and certainly no chance you’d speak to anyone other than a young lady in a party frock presenting you with the bill. We entertained ourselves by walking round the Quay, and up to the city centre. OH confirmed that he isn’t missing anything by leaving me to do my shopping trips alone, and refused to come into TKMaxx, I wasn’t really surprised! The green bins are over half full with a week to go, and I’ve made a start on pruning the laurel hedge. I’ll do that in instalments as it’s such a long hedge, and it’s a long walk back to the shredder. Sounds like you are having a lovely and well deserved rest, @D0rdogne_Damsel
Good morning everyone, well they say be careful what you wish for, it's dull grey and wet here too. That'll teach me to moan about the heat. The ground needs the rain but I still have lots of clearing up to do. Glad you're enjoying your well deserved break @D0rdogne_Damsel. Hope @Hostafan1 is OK now, and no news is good news. On the upside I think my latest waterbut repair has worked this time. All of you in the east prepare for an invasion at the weekend, one of OH'S nephews has a big birthday and we're all coming to Norfolk for "a bit of a do"😁
Word on the street is that they had frost in inland parts last night. Unusually sunny day (so far), so I went for a walk on the coastal path. Not many things in flower along it I'm afraid, but then I suppose it is October. Glad you had a lovely holiday @D0rdogne_Damsel .

Saw the dentist this morning who confirmed I'd lost half my tooth. He has just given me a temporary covering over the rough remains of the filling. Another large bill and an even larger one to come next week as I've opted for a new crown on that one and the ones on either side, both of which are also heavily filled. Credit card to the rescue!
As it's going to be a long session, I enquired about the possibility of a mild sedative beforehand - I tend to get a bit panicky/tearful sometimes with a mouthful of metal and lots of noise so I just need something to keep me calm. Apparently dentists no longer offer this so I have to ask my GP if he will prescribe it. I wasn't sure if you can get sedatives over the counter these days?
It's good to find a suitable car mechanics @Ergates, we also use a local garage in the village we're very pleased with. They were interested in OH's old 1938 car he took in one day, called over the apprentices to have a good look and lent OH the tools to do the job on the spot with the apprentices watching.
No gardening for us either @Allotment Boy, we had very heavy rain overnight so everything's soggy.
I had a call to say I've been approved for the FREE air source heat pump and FREE loft insulation. I'm still waiting to hear if I'm getting the solar panels too.

Lovely pics @Badly_Maintained.
