So sorry to hear about your tooth @Busy-Lizzie, please be careful this time especially if your son will be away on holiday from next week. No bending down or leaning forward type of gardening/housework for several days until things settle down, causing blood to rush to your head is the worst thing you can do right now. Sorry about your plants @didyw, hope they eventually arrive in a healthy state. We have lots of problems with deliveries here, older sat navs stop some half a mile below us and parcels get dropped off there on the doorstep of an empty house! Lots of rain here today, the ground is pretty sodden - the Jack R terriers get pretty wet and muddy during their outside activities and then moan at me for restricting them to the blanket in front of the Rayburn instead of allowing them the run of the house.Ā
Thank you @punkdoc and @AnnaB. Socket aches but is much better than yesterday. Son didn't say about not bending down. He said there wasn't enough blood in the socket to make a decent clot.
A sunny day was forecast but it's raining.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
We had really heavy rain in the night ⦠the noise woke me and then made me feel anxious⦠I sāpose thatās understandable after last weekend ⦠šĀ Now weāve woken to blue skies and sunshine and coffee is on its way ⦠šĀ

Morning everyone,Ā we had very heavy rain in the night too.Ā It's not just pixel that has trouble adjusting to the time change @Pat EĀ when I was under 27 I used to snap straight into the new time but not these days.š I managed to get one new strip of felt on the roof of the moved shed yesterday,Ā but had to put the loose plastic back as the rain showers were making it too wet, to continue.Ā IĀ only need too get one more on , very frustrating.Ā
Had a really good sleep and the cats had even checked the memo about the extra hour (ok we went to bed late so tomorrow might be different but)! Cats are so in tune with the sunrise and sunset arenāt they @Pat E.Ā Sorry you had an anxious night DoveĀ
- I expect you are still coming down from the stress as that was quite a big deal.
Just waiting for the washing to beep so that can have a couple of hours outside before more rain.Ā
Yes, thanks @AuntyRach ⦠friend whoās a counsellorĀ said that itās a mild PTSD following sonās accident earlier this year and our horrendous flood experience last weekend, plus of course losing my brother recently.Ā
I realised the other day that there isnāt anyone left in my life who knew me as a child ⦠delightfully batty Aunty B is well into her 90s and not really compos mentĆs now ⦠and even though Iām in touch with some cousins, because they lived in Wales and we were in Suffolk we only saw each other once every couple of years or so. Itās a slightly weird feeling ⦠I sāpose it means I must be grown up nowĀ Ā Ā
Anyway, Iām showered and have done a quick mani and pedi and am drinking coffee while OH makes his porridge. Son is sleeping soundly, having stayed up to watch the boxing.Ā
Thereās a load in the wash ⦠hopefully this bright sunny day will continue and weāll get a good dry ā¦Ā Iāve got a small piece of pork shoulder to roast for supper ⦠Iāll rub it with fennel seeds and roast it with carrots, apples and potatoes ⦠and some buttery Hispi cabbage should go well.Ā
It'll soon be time to catch up with the Archers ā¦
Edited to add ⦠son has appeared and is in the garden for a smoke and a coffee. I wish he wouldnāt smoke of course, but he has to make his own choices ⦠Iām not going to nag him this year after everything heās been through.Ā

I'm lucky to have friend who I'veĀ known since I was too young to remember - certainly we were at pre-school together. Otherwise I'd be in the same position, being now estranged from my only sibling
