Not a good night, OH had his second shingles jab and had a feverish night, he is asleep now. Tooth is OK, thank you @Allotment Boy for suggesting the Corsodyl: it has made a difference. It's a sunny, lovely morning. It is good to sit with the window open and breathe in the fresh air after a hottish night. As you say @AuntyRach in a couple of months' time we will all be here moaning about the cold 🤣🤣 Except @Pat E of course whose turn it is to enjoy spring.
Yes Coccinella, we could feel unexpected heat this afternoon when the basket of dry washing was carried in. 😀. Does anyone know how Spain has managed? I know Greece is suffering weather, wise.
Good morning all 😊 ☕️ A rather restless night, waking frequently until it cooled down about 3:30. Thankfully I can have a fairly quiet day.
Ah it was you @tui34 🤓. I too was told I have the very beginning of cataracts … hey ho … I should wear sunglasses outside. He said he thought it’d be at least 5 years before I notice anything much. 🤞
Morning all, thankfully I'm back in the land of the living today! I'd been violently ill since 3 am yesterday, couldn't eat or drink anything, only tiny sips of water. Think I must have eaten something that didn't agree with me, most probably some out of date salad leaves which is my own stupid fault. Hardly ever suffer from digestion problems so a real unwelcome surprise. Last time was about ten years ago when we caught norovirus from a restaurant in Cork.
Good news though is that I've lost 2 lbs!
Feel weak and feeble this morning, not surprisingly, so will take it easy. It's going to be very hot today so no gardening anyway.
Join the clan @Dovefromabove and @tui34. I was diagnosed with a cataract in one eye some while ago but it's slow growing apparently and won't be a problem for a while. Must be an age related thing.
I've cut all the grass this week already, early morning watering done in HOT tunnel, just about to head out to feed pots on terrace, then toasting in the garden for the rest of the day
Sorry you've been unwell, @Lizzie27. Salad leaves don't usually cause upset, unless they haven't been washed since they were watered with polluted water. Usually meat, fish and dairy. Anyway I hope you are on the mend.
Just come in from gardening. Too hot to do anymore. OH was gardening too. We have a security camera on the summer house that looks at the cottage across the garden. I'd tried to get him on the phone a couple of times but no luck so I thought I'd have a look at the security camera and I saw him gardening! Never done that before, feels like spying. I told him though, just had him on the phone. Not long now before I see him, Tuesday.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Thanks @Busy-Lizzie. It was actually one of those supermarket bagged salad leaves we think because it was the only thing OH didn't eat yesterday. I'm not always so careful to check the eat by dates on those. The ones I sowed all got eaten by slugs.
How funny to see your OH on the camera! Best wishes for the flight home.
I was so tired yesterday, but yesterday evening was the first class of my "barre au sol" (floor ballet exercises). Seems it was only me that was sooo stiff (yes the others are all under 27) but I persevered. It really does my knee and hip in, but oils all the right places!! We'll see later how my upper thighs are faring.
Beautiful morning - still and bright. The night was cooler last night which probably helped the slumber. The days are hot. Autumn weather.
Today is the name day of my late husband's grandmother - Reine A la Sainte Reine, sème tes graines. (I thought - even down here) it's a bit late for that! Still... Some spinach perhaps.

Glad the tooth is behaving @coccinella 🤞
Hello @Pat E 😊
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Through early morning fog I see
Visions of the things to be
The pains that are withheld for me
I realize and I can see…
Supposed to be sunny and 30C today, but at the moment it is as above.
Going to see a friend of Moiras, who has decided she wants to redesign her garden, but doesn't know where to start. Should be fun.
