It's been tipping with rain in Dordogne and it's very windy.
Yesterday I finished stacking the logs, back aches a bit. OH started helping but it made his back ache.Β
I was expecting a delivery today, my new kitchen island. I need more worksurface and drawers and cupboards. The kitchen is a decent size but the way it is, eg ancient stone sink, obsolete, below the window, large opening to dining area etc means can't add more cupboards. Anyway, the delivery will be late, probably next week.Β Instead of delivering here they say they'll deliver to the ironmonger in town. I hope it (flatpack) isn't too heavy for us to load into the car. They said it's in 2 parcels. I'm looking forward to it. It will be better for rolling out pastry as I have tiled worktops.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Welcome back @rowlandscastle444. I havenβt seen the thread in question, so canβt comment on that, but will say that sometimes, things said online donβt always come across quite as the poster intended, as, obviously, the readers canβt see the facial expressions or hear the intonation of the voice of the poster when they post, and from that, misunderstandings can sometimes arise. Anyway, Iβm pleased to see that youβre back π.
Goodness, but itβs a very wet day today, and blustery, too. I feel for the people in Aberdeenshire. We have some family up there so hope they are all ok. An aunt, when she was alive, lived in Brechin, too.
We have a leak in the kitchen, coming from the extension. Itβs coming from where the extension joins the house and is running down and dripping through the light fitting π². Anyway, a builder we use is kindly coming to look at it later today, but obviously, work canβt be done until this wind and rain eases.
I must remember to avoid switching on that light.
Pleased to read that your arm feels a bit better today @Ladybird4
To everyone else feeling unwell or caring for those who are, I hope you have a better day today π.
Glad you're back @rowlandscastle444. As LB and Snoopy say, let it go, we understand and we'll jog along just fineπ We braved the weather when the rain subsided a bit and filled the car with fuel and got to Du**l* and found the perfect rug plus a lovely birthday present for daughter. In for the day now.
Busy, join the 'wet crowd'. It has been pretty relenting here all day today. I'll check tomorrow to see if I have an underwater pond again. I'm sure you will be able to find some volunteers to help you lift your packages into the car but when you get home you must be careful not to overdo things. I have been known to undo packages in my car boot and take the pieces out one at a time.
@Red maple, good idea to avoid using the light switch. Electricity and water are not a good combination.
Hazel, pleased to read that you got what you went for at one of your favourite shops.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Signing out for tonight. Its Monty on GW tonight.Β
I am already feeling the stress about the match tomorrow. Sis and bro-in-law made it into 'Hello' alongside Princess Kate and Lady Hilary Beaumont. She sent me the pic. There will be no talking to those two when they get home at the end of the month! See you all in the morning.
