Hazel, happy news that your Mum is doing fine. How is your brother doing? I think your planned visit will have seen the departure of Babet. It was amazing to read how different parts of the UK had been affected. T'Bird mentioned the areas around her and this morning they are talking about parts of Derbyshire being threatened by the River Derwent.

    Morning all,

I've just gone through the remaining letters and, hopefully, put them in a logical order (along with little, hand-drawn maps which should help when they're further apart and it isn't obvious where I need to go next [I know - it's like I'm from the Dark Ages!]). Forecast isn't terrible for today so I'm hoping to put a good shift in, get back mid-afternoon and fall asleep in front of the football ;)ย ย

Good morning Biglad - just be pleased that you don't have to learn 'The Knowledge'. I am mightily impressed by those that do. Hope you manage to break the back of today's deliveries without any hiccups. One of my sisters is a geographer and she used to laugh at me having to turn paper maps upside down, this way and that to work out any route. Thank goodness for SatNav!

Good morning LB, Biglad and all to follow.

Hazel, I'm so glad that your Mum is feeling better.ย

LB, hope that fall of Leylandii cypress will pass smoothly. I didn't read how did you injured your arm. Hope it's nothing serious.ย

Outside is partial sunny and with wind. It was raining whole night, so again I can't do anything in the garden. Later I'll go to cottage and try to find mushrooms in the woods. Till then just rest. I have sweet buns in the oven, but they will be for dinner.ย

Wish you all lovely Sunday.ย ย

    Morning all.

We are going to lunch with Son 2, dentist, today. They have 5 young children so it should be a lively time.

So disappointing about the rugby. First France, then England.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Morning all - a rather chilly one.

LB - I was really enjoying the rugby until the last 10 minutes. Thought England were really good and deserved to win.

Re the floods. Seems we got off quite lightly. Mid Suffolk (where we live) was badly affected by flooding with a major incident being declared after Framlingham (sizeable market town) & a few other places were badly flooded. Many roads in the county (including major trunk roads) were completely impassable on Friday.

People and cars were stranded and had to be rescued and many villages (including ours) completely cut off. Fortunately our village is on slightly higher land and only has a tiny river (not much bigger than a stream) running through it so any flooding tends to be limited to the roads and not properties. The big clean up has started!

Rubee - hope you got some sleep!

    Good morning,

so lovely to see some bright sunshine and blue sky today. Itโ€™s very chilly, though.
Yes, lots of clean up operations going on all over the country. Weโ€™ve been lucky where I live, but properties closer to the river Don are far more vulnerable and there has been, sadly, flooding.

The rugby result was disappointing last night, my OH said England gave it away. When I looked about 10 minutes before the end, we were in the lead. Hey ho.

Glad your mum is feeling better, Hazel.

    Have a nice Sunday everyone.

    Morning all.
Bad luck LB with the Rugby. I imagine we didn't win from your reaction, oh dear. Hard luck.
Topbird, terrible for those people badly affected by floods. I can only be thankful that we don't live anywhere near a river, stream etc but I do remember taking our daughter to Crewe, ย for a Murder Mystery ย weekend at a hotel there, for her 18th birthday and from the train, all we saw was water, water everywhere. ย First time we had seen such a sight and it was dreadful. Thisย ย would have been back in 2000. I can't imagine the aftermath the folks have to go through. ( think I've mentioned this before).
Well, the sun is out but it's cold so will take the day as it comes.ย
  • Afternoon everyone,ย
I was sure I posted earlier,ย  perhaps I forgot to press send and it's disappeared ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธย
Blue skies and sunshine here today, but very chilly outside. Heating came on this morning, so must have been cold.ย
Going to a friends this afternoon for a few hours. Her husband does shifts and is working today.ย
Hope your arm gets better soon @Ladybird4.
@Songbird-2 pleased to hear your mum is well. Hope you can get to see her soon.ย  How are the rose cuttings.
    Have a good Sunday everyoneย

Eeek!! I was in Framingham this time last year. I can imagine the fields around the castle being flooded - they were pretty damp then.

I hadn't been aware that Suffolk had been affected. I hope you didn't actually have water in the house, @Topbird
