Red Maple, goodness that's not good. I wonder if the flashing on the extension roof has failed somewhere? I hope you get it sorted out soon, not ideal at all in this weather but it's this type of weather that shows up such problems/issues. Fingers crossed your family in Scotland are ok too.
Busy, that will be a hard task too, lifting all your " island" gear, please go very steady and enlist the help of some strong male arms......or female if necessary๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ™„โ˜บ๏ธ Sounds very ย nice ย though.ย

Still blowing like mad here but, thankfully, no damage sustained anywhere.
Im off for the night, stay safe everyone and hope we all get some sleep tonight. Our son lives very near to the sea and he says he can hear it even through his triple glazing๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ข Very bad near him.

Yes, @Songbird-2, it is the flashing. We had the builder chappie weโ€™ve used before come and have a look at it today. If thereโ€™s a break in the weather tomorrow, heโ€™s coming to sort it, otherwise it could be Monday when itโ€™s definitely forecast to be better weather. A dent in the old bank balance, ๐Ÿ˜ฒ, but better than the ceiling collapsing in on us, which would be considerably more expensive ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ. Hey, ho, no point getting upset about it.
No news from our family in Scotland since yesterday, but hoping theyโ€™ve escaped anything too serious, though for some it looks dreadful.

@Red maple, at least that is easily remedied and shouldn't take too long....once the rain has eased. Typical these types of problems always occur when the weather is inclement. Fingers crossed the family are okay. Watching the News tonight saw some home flooded out and the occupants having to leave their homes. Dreadful, I would ย hate that. aleta hope this weather settles down sooner rather than later.
Night all, time to sign out.ย

Good morning everybody. Even though its still dark I know its raining because Lily came in like a drowned rat earlier. She is now snugged up next to the radiator keeping warm and getting dry in the process. I'm pleased to say that I slept better last night and arm and shoulder are almost back to pain free normal. I am going to have to be much more careful in future.
@Red maple, at least you know the cause of your leak problem and I hope the weather is kind enough today to allow your builder to get there and fix it.
Hazel, I saw those bewildered people - some with their pets too - being rescued by the fire brigade. More unsung heroes who step up to assist in times like these. Like you, I would be totally devastated if that happened to me.

    Good morning all.

Red Maple, I hope that problem with leakage will be easy to fix. My mother had a similar problem after rebuilding chimney and roof.ย

It's wonderful morning, but last night was rough. We had similar weather like many of you with high wind and lots of rain. Now is peaceful, but it will take time to clear my front garden. It's all wet, so I must wait few hours. Pets and birds are all fed and it's time for my cup of tea.
Hope you all had a good night sleep.

Good morning LB. I'm glad that your arm is better and that you had a decent night. Ah poor Lily, my cats were inside whole night and even now they refuse to go out. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Good morning Ante. Have had my cup of tea and cereals. It is quite light now and I think it may have stopped raining. I will not be risking anything until my shoulder and arm are fully recovered.

  • Morning everyone,ย  absolutely hammering down here. I've got a couple of 'ponds' in the garden. Glad I haven't got to go out today. It will be a few indoor jobs and then perhaps snuggle on the sofa and watch TV.....if I can find anything to watch ๐Ÿ˜‰
Listening to the radio while having tea and toast at the moment.
@Ladybird4 glad your arm and shoulder are feeling much better this morning. Take care.
@Ante1 glad your weather is better this morning. Enjoy your weekend.

    Morning all.

I'm glad your arm is feeling better, LB.

I hope your leak can be repaired quickly @Red maple.

I've had an email to say that my kitchen island will be delivered to my house on Monday.

Raining again. I have a kitchen curtain to make now that OH has put up the curtain rail.
