    Afternoon all.

LB, I just read about storm Babet, and hope everyone will be safe. Severe weather is more and more often, and it's everywhere.

It's so dark outside, luckily without rain whole day. I can imagine what will be when we move clock one hour back. I never liked winter time. SM shopping went well and there were not too much people. I didn't find all from my list.Β  Β

Good afternoon all. Another crazy day. Thanks to all who commented on my poorly arm. It is much the same despite me being extra careful today. My bird feed was due to arrive today but I rearranged the delivery for tomorrow as I knew I wouldn't be in. I get home to discover two large boxes outside my garage door (so close that I cannot open the door). Go figure! I wanted to be in so I could get the delivery man to carry the boxes into the garage for me. Once I had changed into my gardening scruff, I carefully moved the boxes by 'walking them' from out of the range of the garage door. Eventually I decanted the seeds into the storage bin and filled up the bird feeders in the front and back gardens.
@Biglad, I rarely get spam coming through into my inbox but guess what! Today I got a corker. The subject line read 'Never have sweaty buttocks again!' I fell on the floor laughing at that one. That is a bit unfortunate about the mortgage situation for your son. I guess he is on contract work too?
No one in my family has had their tonsils out so I was quite fascinated reading all of your stories about that operation. SGL, I think that littlies recover so quickly that they like to get them out and home asap so that they don't get frightened by the strangeness of hospitals.
Ante, a town called Brechin in Scotland has been ordered to evacuate because the flood defences are set to be breached. It is all very worrying for those people up there. I think where I am is quite safe 🀞🏻 I am dreading the hour change too.

  • @Ladybird4 I agree little ones do recover quite quickly. And yes it it nice to be back in your own home. But I feel an overnight stay would have been ok. They seem to send most people home the same day these days, often saying .....you'll recover quicker at home. Sometimes it's better to stay in for awhile.Β

That's a cracker @Ladybird4 :DΒ  I've just had one regarding getting a refund for my flight tickets. Can't remember the last time I flew. Certainly pre-covid!

Yes - eldest is in the same line of work despite me trying to put her off.

LB I hope your arm is recovering. Try to rest it .Hazel my gran was born in the late eighteen hundreds . I remember he telling me that she had her tonsils removed at her home. Apparently she was given rum as an anaesthetic.
When I had my children . My first time in hospital was a ten day stay .The second time was thirty six hours . I think it was considered recovery was quicker at home.I remember feeling very delicate for several days .

Sorry I made the incorrect assumption about the gender of your eldest @Biglad. Is this the daughter who doesn't like spiders?

Ruby I cannot believe it rum as an anaesthetic - that is classic!

I am signing out for tonight. I can feel an evening of reading coming on as there is nothing, for me, worth watching on TV. See you all tomorrow. Enjoy your evenings.

Oh my goodness Rubee, I have never heard of tonsils being taken out at home, poor woman but a brave woman! I do agree with SGL though that nowadays, after an operation, they do tend tend to send people home pretty quick. Our son was in hospital for a week after his tonsils were taken out and when I had our son, I was in hospital a good fortnight! I don't know if I could have coped going home straight away, gawd!Β
SGL, I hope the little one is doing okay now though and with each passing day, it will Β get easier for him to swallow and eat solid food....and no more horrible medicine for him to takeπŸ™‚
LB, that is typical isn't it? It's happened to us a few times when we time our visits out to enable us to be back at home in time for an expected delivery....only to find they've been, gone and left the item with a neighbour......or come earlier than expected anyway.Β
We've had a busy day today so will sign off for now. Sleep well if you can folks.Β

Yes @Ladybird4 - she has me doing sweeps of rooms before she goes in them at the moment as we've had quite a few large specimens coming out into the open :DΒ Β

I've been to the cinema for the first time in ages tonight. The tickets were Β£1 cheaper if you buy online! Where is the world heading? :(Β
