Morning everyone,Β A very dark one. The conservatory felt very chilly when I went out there just now π₯Ά Heating has turned itself on again.Β Seeing a friend this morning, we're going to a GC for tea/coffee.Β And a mooch. The garden seems very confused plant wise, I've got some in flower that is either too late or early. Do hope this cold weather doesn'tΒ spoil them for next year. Have a good day everyone.
Good morning SGL. I noticed that my Weigela in the front hedge has been flowering for a week or so - far too late in the year. Like you I'm hoping that this will not affect its display next Spring. Enjoy your GC mooch. I wonder what might catch your eye.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Good morning everyone.I am a bit blurry eyed this morning .Had a grocery delivery scheduled for between 11am and 1pm. The delivery was postponed until the evening .I think the van must have broken down ,I was informed the groceries were out for delivery .I had to accept a late time for redelivery .I needed the groceries .Eventually the groceries turned up at 10-30pm .I was so grateful that Rosie was with us .She helped me unpack and put the groceries away .OH still quite weak but a little better .
Good afternoon all, well, the predicted storm still has to reach us here. It is breezy, but not massively so. Iβve got some cloth things blowing dry on the string outside, so π€it dries before the storm does reach us (if, I do hope not). Hope you get your gardening jobs completed @Ladybird4.I managed to do the rose trimming I needed to do yesterday. There wasnβt much, Iβd done a good bit before, but some had put on another spurt. It doesnβt feel as cold as previous days, though the heating did kick on again first thing.
Afties all. We've had a busy day and only now having a rest. We popped to the Theatre and have booked our tickets for the panto and then decided to have a wander around town. Back at home we had a parcel delivery due so I've pottered on with lots of small jobs around the house including sorting out what xmas present see have. I hadn't realised how many we'd acquired. Added one more to the pile after getting it this morning and so now, we don't have a great deal more to get. Rubee,,you had a long wait for your delivery, good that Rosie could Β help with that.Β LB,,hope you get what you needed to do outside today, too cold here for gardening.
Hello all. I finished in the garden half an hour ago and just as I came back into the house it started to rain I dug up the sneaky 2.5m bird cherry - pressie from a bird - that I must have missed amongst my Witch Hazels. I was dreading tackling it but it turned out to be easier than I anticipated. I then planted all the bulbs and corms I got at the GC on Sunday. I am now shattered. Heard from Bestie that she is full of cold and is going to have to give Food Bank a miss tomorrow. I'll go and take her apologies.
Yikes Ruby, I was asleep by that time. Still at least you got the groceries you needed. Pleased to read your OH is a little improved.
Red maple, I agree with you about it being warmer today. I was lathered by the time I got the tree out of the ground!
Hazel, how exciting for you all. Can't wait to hear how 23 takes to it.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
It's just started to rain here so that could be an end to any decent spells of weather whilst Babet makes her way through. Shower dodging whilst delivering could be fun at the weekend.
Another batch of kind souls lining up to lend me money in the inbox. I might take them all up and flee the country Β Β
Good grief @Biglad, how on earth do all those spammers get through to your inbox? do you reckon someone knows you are paying your mortgage off next year?
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Biglad, if you put those e mails into your junk box, your computer etc should recognise such e mails in the future and send them straight there. They will automatically be deleted within the days you select in Settings for their disposal. This time , next week, at 5.50 and earlier, it Β will be pitch blackπ¦ LB, the bulbs hopefully will put on a lovely show next year. I'm hoping we too, will get some nice displays after Β we planted out a load of bulbs last week, week before. Very satisfying when they're all done and planted out/up.Β
That reminded me, Hazel. OH was supposed the book a Pantomime before we left Norfolk. He forgot.
We went to the DIY place, bought various bits and pieces including a curtain rail for the other kitchen window, an axe for OH, some oil for oiling the stairs which previous owners had sanded and a new door handle for our bedroom.
We stacked logs this afternoon, not quite finished. The most rubbishy log delivery we've had, full of bark and dust and logs of different shapes and sizes.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
