I've been lighting the stove in the kitchen diner but it doesn't heat the sitting room very well so the electric radiator has been on in there. I have a wood burning stove waiting for the man to come and install it in the chimney next week.

It's been a frustrating sort of day. I got dressed in gardening clothes then OH reminded me that we had to buy printer ink and go to the Mairie as they had written to say I now have a house number and a street name and I had to go to collect the number provided. I also had to ask about renewing my identity card and have some photos taken for it.

The Mairie gave us a lovely blue number, very French, to screw to the stone gate post. They said I had to inform people about my change of address as though I'd moved house, EDF, tax office, banks, car registration document etc. I had to go to a website called ANTS for the car and my identity card. First it came up with OH's name. He has never used my computer for it, then it wouldn't accept my password and in order to change it I had to type in the old password before a new one, except it didn't like my old password. I got in eventually using the tax office site which is connected and managed to change my password back to the original one! Then I had to inform various websites of my change of address. Some wanted proof like an EDF bill, which I didn't have. Eventually the EDF sent me a form with the new address on it. Daft because they didn't ask for proof. The bank accepted it.

ANTS eventually sent a form about my identity that I must take to the Mairie with my photos - but I forgot to have the photos taken.

At least I managed to weed kill the drive at the end of the afternoon and I've done some watering.

Oh my goodness Busy! What a performance! I bet you felt like you had ants galloping around inside your brain! So you are almost there - just have to take your photos in. I remember you telling us about your log burner on your last French visit.

OMGoodness Busy, what a todoodle😬 Glad you've got that lot almost sorted but I expect you'll have brain fog after all that.

LB, love it when the SHF start to pop through the soil. Did you mean you've planted out into the ground your 25 plants/bulbs or just taken the pot round to the front garden? Whichever, it will make a wonderful display.Β

SGL, this weather is mad isn't it? I've started wearing my winter coat some days as it's so cold, then the next day it's back to a small jacket. Had to laugh at the latest naming of a gout heavy rain and strong winds due as a flipping storm. That's not a storm.....😫

    Good morning all.

What a chily start of the day. Last two days was quite cold, but according to forecast, Indian summer will be back from tomorrow. Till then I must wear shirt with long sleeves. I didn't do to much last weekend, but hope today I'll be able to go to cottage. I also had dinner last Sunday with some of my family and friends. It was a lovely change. Now is time for tea, and in a thirty minutes must go out.
Have a nice day and see you all later.Β  Β

A very good morning Ante and all arriving later. Its chilly here as well Ante - heating has gone on. It is lovely to have family time now and again. Gives you a chance to relax and just enjoy the catch up with everyone.
Hazel, I had the SHF in a pot last year but I have planted them out of the pot and into the garden. I have another 75 to go.

    Morning all.

Gosh, @star gaze lily only 12Β°! I would freeze. Ours is at 21Β° when we are in Norfolk. No central heating here, wood burners and electric, programmable radiators. Electricity is cheaper here.

It's a calm, cloudy, mild morning in Dordogne.

I ate some chocolate covered walnuts last night and woke at 3.30am with toothache. A bit must have got stuck in that pesky hole again where a bit of tooth broke. I must make an appointment with dentist son.
