Indeed LB. That would be a problem for travel if I don't have someone to take care of the pets. Five cats, dog, fishes in the pond and birds. Of course, my father will have walk with Max.

I was just wondering about Max and his walks. It is great having people you can trust with your pets. Jack looked after Lily when I used to go away to France each year. He is too frail now and because Lily is now so old, I choose not to go away.

  • Morning everyone, yesterday it absolutely poured down all day. It was like someone had turned the tap on at full pelt it was so heavy.ย
    This morning we have sunshine.ย
Thank you @Songbird-2 it was a very hard time to get through. I was so glad my eldest son was with me.ย  So pleased to hear everything was clear for your daughters scan. Hope she's not in pain and can come home soon.
@Busy-Lizzie glad you have arrived back in France safely.ย
@Ante1 where abouts in London are you staying, hopefully just a tube train ride from every where.ย  Don't forget Buckingham Palace, but LB has suggested all the good places to visit. Hyde Park is another place to wander round or Regents Park.ย ย
@Ladybird4 you brought back memories for me mentioning Foyles book shop. My dad always bought books from there. Haven't been in there for years, but it was a lovely book shop.
Having my flu vaccine this morning.ย
Looks beautiful outside at the moment, I do hope the sun stays all day.
Have a lovely day everyone, take care.ย

Morning SGL. Thank you for suggestion, I'll certainly have walk thru Hyde Park. I don't have strict schedule, I'm on my own and can do what I really want.ย

At this time of year almost all flights from Croatia land at Stanstead airport. I'll take train to Liverpool street station, and my hotel is just 2km from there, in Islington. I also noticed that there is Flower market in the neighborhood.ย

Morning all. Just been out to open coldframes and greenhouse and my, it's chilly. I've decided to put two pots of ( new) crocuses in the coldframe this year for over winter. Last year I left them out over winter and they did nothing.ย

We are popping out to a garden centre this morning to try and use a garden voucher OH received for his birthday. He's keen to replace a very small shrub in the front garden which has hardly grown at all since its first planting four years ago. He's thinking of a group of three red tipped grasses, he is really loves them and they should look well with the plants we have in the border.ย

Planet Earth III starts on BBC 1 on 22/10/2023 for anyone who may be interested. I'm looking forward to it as from some excerpts I've seen, it looks pretty stunning.

    Good afternoon.

We have a much brighter (though chilly) day today. It was very wet yesterday.
I need to bring some pelargoniums under cover as frost is forecast through the night, and take some cuttings from them as insurance as well. I think theyโ€™ll have to live in the garage (not the cuttings), as Iโ€™ve limited room indoors nowadays.

Lilyโ€™s tv is busy and then the wet cloth things can go out on the string to dry - it looks a good drying day. The hot metal thingy is going to be busy, too. ๐Ÿ˜

Well, Iโ€™d better make a move, or nothing will get done.

Good morning .The name Foyle brings back memories of when I was small .There was a small corner shop not far from where we lived .Inside one wall was covered in shelves .They contained books from Foyleโ€™s lending library. For a small fee you could borrow books without having to go into the central library .While my parents were choosing books ,my friend and I would go to the counter and purchase a tumbler full of Tizer for a penny .Thatโ€™s an old penny, 240 pennies to the pound. This was a real treat because our parents didnโ€™t approve of Tizer .Itโ€™s amazing how one word can trigger memories long buried.

Gosh, Rubee, you've brought memories back for me by quoting 240 pennies in the pound! That was forever ago and it made me think๐Ÿ˜‚
Red Maple, I've been doing similar jobs today, in between being out and dashing about. When we went out today, we saw a three car pile up with many ambulances and police cars around the scene. We came home a different way and although we ended up going round and through places which weren't familiar, we did eventually make it home.
OH and I treated ourselves when we walked through the clothing part of the g/c...naughty, but nice. I got some new Pavers shoes and OH got a lovely thick Sherpa fleece. We managed to find some are Red Baron grasses along with a cute owl ornament ( for Xmas) and a Happy Feet penguin garden ornament. 23 likes flying around the garden looking for our various figures hidden out there. I also managed to find some new Saponaria Ocymoides ย so got 4 to put away in the greenhouse, for next year. All in all, a good few hours of retail therapy.

We also couldn't resist some Ecclefechan tarts๐Ÿคญ

Daughter is now back at home.๐Ÿ‘
  • Had flu vaccine this morning, feel ok at the moment. But have taken another dose of paracetamol this afternoon. There didn't seem to be many at out health centre when I went. I was in and out before my appointment was due ๐Ÿ˜Š A friend of mine went this afternoon and apparently was queuing out the door into the car park ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ
@Songbird-2 so glad to hear that your daughter is back home. Hope she's ok. Sounds like you had a lovely trip to the GC.ย
@Ante1 flower market sounds a lovely place to visit.ย
@Rubee I can remember Tizer, it was a lovely fizzy drink. Happy memories.
