  • We've been very lucky with the weather today @Ladybird4 I've tri@Ladybird4 back some if the blackberry at the back of the garden and also lopped a few bits off of next doors Leylandii. Garden bin is now full, unfortunately not being emptied till Tuesday week. Also swept out garage and pit away the garden table. I was absolutely worn out after that so had a nice soak and a lazy few hours. I'll cut the grass tomorrow.Β
Shame you don't know the name of the rose @Songbird-2 Could you take a few photos of the rose and perhaps a garden centre could recognise it for you, or maybe get a white one that's as close as possible.Β  There is a Rose Bush called Iceberg... .my mum and dad used to have in their garden.Β
@wfnp5bk4spsSNFYKh1 Rosie hope you feel OK after the flu vaccine, have a restful evening. Perhaps after a good nights sleep you will feel ok.

SGL, you were lucky with the weather. I risked putting Lily's TV on and hung wet cloth things on the whirligig. Just before the first of the rugby matches this aft. I had to dash out - errrmm - walk quite swiftly - to bring in the wet cloths as it started to rain and it has never stopped since then. That is such a pretty picture of the Iceberg rose too.
Not seen Debs, Yvie or Ante for a while. I do hope that all is well with them.

I am signing out for today. For some reason I feel quite tired and there is one more rugby match to go tonight. Hope I can keep awake. Time to get another cuppa soon. See you all tomorrow. Another 'ber' month beginning. Hope you all have nice evenings with restlful sleep later. See you all in the morning.

Ah, no, it isn't that then LB. The leaves are completely different. Pity I didn't think to take a pic of it as it still had some flower heads on it. The leaves on mums are smooth...maybe it's a patio rose grown massive? I do know it's never been pruned, just left to its own devices over the years.
  • Night night @Ladybird4 hope you sleep well......but after seeing the rugby πŸ˜‰
Will be watching Strictly tonight. But will record it, so I can whizz through some bits of it πŸ˜‰
  • Can't believe it's October tomorrow already. September flew by.Β

Crikey, lots of posts that I seem to have missed. Sorry SGL, missed your posts. Not the same rose I'm afraid, it doesn't have that frilly insides, just petals around the side. I will take a picture next time we visit mum, even if it's finished flowering as
and Β then I can inspect the leaves in details...good idea! That's a nice rose though, Iceberg, I do like the white roses.
It's been raining steadily here most of the afternoon too, gentle drizzle but it's doing amazing things for the garden, it's all looking very green and fresh.Β
Its scary, SGL, that we will be in October tomorrow. Not long until C****t**s, gawd😬
    I hope that @debs64, @Ante1 and @Yviestevie and @Red maple are all okay too.Β

Good evening all, and hello @Songbird-2. Yes, I’m ok, just haven’t posted this last few days (but I have read and caught up) - been a bit busy.

Had a very, very lazy indoors day. Had a prickly throat today, thought I’d caught it from OH, who is still sniffling and coughing, but luckily, it seems to have passed by after I fed it with a paracetamol this morning and a G & T this evening πŸ˜‚πŸ˜². However, thought I’d better stay away from anyone else so stayed indoors today. If I feel ok tomorrow, (and I feel ok now, to be honest), may venture further afield, though if the weather stays as wet and miserable as it’s been today, perhaps not.

I agree @star gaze lily, where has September gone? Can hardly believe it’s the start of October tomorrow- better get my daffy bulbs planted. You’re right @Songbird-2, not long until C….t..s. Be here before we know it 😁. In fact, I booked a pantomime show at our local small theatre today for mid December. Already looking forward to shouting β€œHe’s behind you!” Β Don’t think we’ll be provided with any knitted veg to throw at the baddie though πŸ˜‚ (There was a clip on the local news about ladies (perhaps some men, too?) knitting veg for the audience to throw at the villain in their local panto πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚). We’ve no littlies to take with us, but, hey, who cares - a panto is for everyone - we’re all young at heart, aren’t we? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸΌ.

We like pantomimes too, @Red maple. I hope we are going to one in December.

We had a good day with my sister and BIL. After lunch my sister and I went for a long walk, leaving the men to have coffee.

I'll watch Strictly one day when OH is busy with something else. We watched Poirot tonight.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
