No bunkers or ponds visited today @star gaze lily ;) However, I did acquaint myself with some dense undergrowth and a couple of ditches :oย

We didn't visit the 19th today - think everyone had to get back for bank holiday plans.

It's got overcast now (after sunshine all morning) but I'll try and get into the garden after a hot bath.

Good afternoon all. Back from rellie visiting and the pub we went to was wonderful. We both opted for the same thing - chicken and ham hock pies with carrots, peas, broccoli and chips. We were so impressed with our meals that we booked there and then for C*******s lunch. The only disappointing thingย  about the meal was I had no room for the Eton Mess pancakes I had had my eyes on when ordering my main course. The young man serving us laughed at that.
Hazel, the M6 was awful so I do hope it is better for you tomorrow.
T'Bird, great excitement for you and OH. Am I right in thinking that you went looking for a new van a couple of years back - or have I just made that up? The bike carriers sound interesting. Not knowing about these things I hadn't realised that you had to uncoup[le the bikes to open the rear doors but then when I think about it, the bikes would be in the way of a wide opening. I hope that you see what you want at this show - I bet it will be fascinating. You might be tempted by something else.
Take care painting that ceiling Busy and I hope that the babysitting is not too onerous.
Hope you manage some gardening @Biglad but plenty of Marti on my drive back north this afternoon so none for me.

LB - we had to sell our big m/home Mar 2022 after a mouse got into the engine compartment and chewed the air filter which was sucked around the engine and blew valves etc and caused us to grind to a halt on the busy M3๐Ÿ˜ฌ. ย Cost the best part of ยฃ6000 to repair but the engineer advised us to move the vehicle on PDQ as he thought the cylinders etc would almost certainly have been damaged by lots of tiny pieces of metal circulating round the engine. Fortunately the dealer we bought it from was keen as mustard to take it back because of the chronic shortage of such vehicles and we got back what we paid for it.

We put in the order for our new camper van last April so, by the time we get it, we will have waited over 2 years....

OMG, its all coming back to me T'Bird. I remember the story of that little perisher now and the huge cost in damages it caused.

Topbird, I too remember the fiasco /trouble that the little critter caused in your poor M/home. Didn't realise you're having to wait all this time though for your new one. Hope you find a bike brace that you want at the Show- reminds me of the many times my parents used to take me to an annual Homes Exhibition....really enjoyed looking round them, even as a young child.ย  Enjoy the show.

LB, I haven't mentioned to OH what you said about the M6 ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

I am going to sign out for now as we have an early start tomorrow. So I will catch up with everyone when I get back. Have a good evening everyone.
  • Lily enjoy the poppets visit today. ย It will do you good. ย Topbird wishing you both a smooth journey and have fun. ย Hazel its been quite autumnal here too. ย LB good idea to book for c********s now after your meal with handy brother. ย Rosie

Good morning everyone. I hope you all slept well last night. When I went to bring in my milk bottle this morning there was a gigantic snail climbing up it! Cheeky rip!
