    Good evening all.

Hazel, I was so sad to read about your Mum. Hope she will eventually feel better. Thank you very much for lovely birthday wishes.

Bussy, nice work. I admire you for having patient for painting all that surface. I can't imagine myself doing that.

T'bird, have a lovely holiday, and safe trip. I still didn't have time to send you message, but tomorrow I'll be free. Two small tips, olive oil and truffles😉.

We had so nice weather last two days. It's calm, sunny and not too warm. I mostly spent time with my sister. She will stay till 15th September. She has dinner with our parents, and I let them to have some alone time. Now is time for my dinner and tea.

Wow, @Busy-Lizzie, that's absolutely wonderful and looking so much more airy and cheerful and open! What a cracking job you've done there, well done. There's an awful amount of white and I know  how  that feels , to paint it all!
@Ante1 ,glad you're enjoying your time with your sister and that she is having the chance to catch up with your parents too. Memories being made....
  • Busy what a sterling job, much brighter, glad you could print after all.  Lily I’m so glad you had such a fun day it’s always good to feed the ducks.  LB I’ve woken up after being out for the count for most of the day.  Furry friend in tow.  Topbird hope the patient will make a good recovery and you and oh have a lovely time. Ante - Thanks for those tips. It would be nice to find some really good olive oil to take home to use in salads over winter.

I love truffles (Assume we're talking about black & white ones rather than the chocolate variety?🤣) especially with chicken or pasta, so it's good to know to keep an eye open for those. Hope to get to a couple of markets during our stay depending on the buses and what the roads are like for cycling.

We finally made it to Hook of Holland - but more than 2 hrs late. The camp site at the exhibition centre was officially closed by the time we arrived after 10pm, but we've managed to sneak in and find a spot. It was all paid for weeks ago so we have a ticket to display. Just hope nobody gets too wound up about us not doing a proper check-in.

Suspect we won't need an alarm in the morning. Dusseldorf airport is literally just over the road and there are an awful lot of planes taking off late on a Saturday so early Sunday will probably be the same....

BL - nice job on the painting front. It looks much lighter, fresher and more modern. All the woodwork (windows, skirtings, beams, architrave etc etc) in our house was dark brown when we moved in and it was a real chore painting it all white. Took 4 coats everywhere but so glad I stuck with it. Made a huge difference.

OH cut the back garden lawn after tea, so thought I'd join him and do some light pruning around the garden. I've come in covered in mozzy bites up my arms and one of my jawline😲😬 Calamine lotion applied, antihistamine tablet taken, now add to bed and hope for itch-free night🙄
    Night all.
  • Hazel hope the antihistamine and calamine helped you have a more comfortable night.  I’m washed and dressed as body clock a little out of kilter, must have some tea, Rosie

    Morning all from the CA,

Another session of hacking at a small ball with a metal stick beckons. Forecast is good - glad we'll be done by midday though, as it could be a bit warmer than ideal for me.

Good morning Rosie, Biglad and all to follow.

Hazel, hope you had a good night sleep.

Another lovely morning. I didn't slept too well. I can see so many swallows gathering and preparing to leave, first sign of autumn. I'll join Rosie with cup of tea, but she is probably finished with hers.

Wish you all a nice Sunday.

  • Ante the swallows here have had their refreshment and leaving the UK for their journey to Africa.  Enjoy your tea.  Rosie
