I'm satisfied. Almost. All the apples I picked yesterday have been sorted, cut up, stewed and bottled. Now to drag that electrical suction device around (shh!!).๐
Good afternoon all. I had an email advising me of a parcel delivery today - between 11:30 and 13:30 and I had to ring Jack, as I promised I would go across and see him, to let him know I might be later than expected. At about 12:00 I heard a scuffle at the door, I got up to see what was what and it was my parcel - all 10cm x 10cm of it which actually fitted through my letterbox - no human interaction at all! I needn't have hung around. Jack and i did have a laugh about that.
@Biglad, I was watching Monty wranglng his raspberries last night. I am not sure what type mine are - 'sco's' best. They fruited earlier than now so I'm guessing they are summer fruiting and I must treat them accordingly.
Busy, I am sure that your son will love his album and I wouldn't be at all surprised if everyone looks in it at some time today and smiles at the memories.
Red maple and Hazel, I will be going to see rellies Bank Holiday Monday but hopefully it should be relatively quiet and I'll make sure I hit the M6 before it is 'going home' time.
I smiled at your description of trimming the clematis Hazel. I had several spider web encounters as I went down the garden first thing.
I have some hollyhocks that need potting on soon. I won't be putting them in the garden until spring so my greenhouse is going to be busy this Autumn/Winter. I have had loads and loads of tomatoes off my plants. Delicious. I was interested in what Monty did to collect his own seed. I would never have thought of that at all but I will give it a go so I don't have to buy any seeds.
@rowlandscastle444 you have been a busy bee and how lovely to have your own apples ready for using however you want.

I'm allergic to apples but every now and again I do fancy one. But....I resist ๐ You will ย be able to make lots of lovely puddings with your haul @rowlandscastle444 . Our one tomato plant, LB, is no now finished. I have a bag full of them in the fridge now. Our greenhouse is filling up nicely too with stuff for next year.ย I had a laugh at your tiny parcel, we had one the same today, about 3x3 inches! Have been waiting over a week for it and , just found out when I started tracking it, that it was posted from an area not far from where we live!ย
Afternoon all. Just pop in to say Hello. I was yesterday at cottage, and it was the hardest day this year to work outside. It's still boiling hot, and refreshment will come next Monday. I must deliver onions and courgettes to my friend, but it will wait till sunset. Hope you all have a decent day so far.ย ย
Isn't it lovely when you can eat your own produce - whatever it be and to have some stored (I have rhubarb frozen now) for eating later when the memories of the harvesting come flooding back?
Have you all noticed how dark it is getting now? I've just looked out of my window and its tipping down with rain. Deep joy! Think I'll toast some crumpets and have a cuppa. At least I did manage to fill the bird feeders when I got back from Jack's.

Ante, I feel for you trying to keep on top of all the work needed at the cottage, it must be such hard, draining work for you. Soon be !o day and let's hope, with a significant drop in temperatures for you.ย
Evening Hazel. I don't like heat at all, so hope that rain and refreshment will arrive soon as possible. How is your Mum? Does she feels more comfortable in new home?
I am going to say good night people. Think I might read as there is nothing I particularly want to watch on TV. See you all in the morning. Enjoy your evenings.

Mine fruited from 20th June to 13th July so definitely a summer variety
Raining here now with thunder rumbling in the distance. Athletics, football and cricket to watch now I'm indoors for the evening.
