The fantastic owner of my favourite guesthouse/apartments is retiring today.Β We went to The Glandore on the Isles of Scilly for the first time in 1998, and for the last time, last year. We should have gone this year too, but my health, or lack of it, changed all that.
Such a shame - but it was going to happen sometime. So, what next? We've never found a more restful place than there. Found it by accident too. Anyone else been to the Isles of Scilly?
We have beautiful autumn morning. Rain and so fresh. I finally slept like human being. My sister arrived safely, and she will stay two weeks. I'll join now Rosie with cup of tea. After school, I'm planning to go to cottage and have a long walk in the woods. Maybe I'll found some mushrooms.Β
Looks like it might be nice again today I've done a quick recce of the garden on the way to topping up the 2 recycling bins that are out for collection. I've never seen this before
@rowlandscastle444 I was sorry to read you have some health problems. I feel sure you are not alone there. I haven't been to the Scilly Isles but I have heard they are very beautiful so I can understand your returning every year. I'm certain you will have many happy memoriesof the Glandore.
Tut @Biglad - it is way too early in the day for pornographic pictures!
Rosie and Ante I have my cup of tea too - cheers!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
I regret to say that cloud cover last night obscured any view of the blue moon I might have had but there have been some stunning pictures on TV this morning. I'll just have to wait now until 2032!

That's a shame, @Ladybird4 To make matters worse, I think the next one is 2037 !! I've not seen any pictures of it on TV yet. Mind you, the TV doesn't normally go on until the news at 6pm. They should have it then.

Thank you @Ladybird4 Yes, we have some very happy memories. The photo on my profile was taken from the balcony of our apartment.Β We only found the Isles of Scilly, because a fellow passenger on one of the small planes returning from Alderney, told us that if we loved Alderney (which we did), we'd enjoy going to Scilly. So we tried it.Β I'm so glad we did.

The clouds cleared and I saw the blue moon. It was big and golden and you wouldn't have needed a torch to look around the garden.
Yuk @Biglad! I've seen that quite often but it's not something I want to see with my morning coffee.
Back to painting today, a bit to finish on the landing and a 3rd coat is needed on the bits that were dark wood. Then the stairwell.
