Ante - Sretan rodendan! ππ°π Hope you have a lovely day.
Big Lad - apologies if my flippant remark re the M5 stirred unpleasant memories.Β
Rowlands Castle - we had a very enjoyable week on the Isles of Scilly about 5 years ago. We were blessed with warm sunny weather and I particularly enjoyed some of the boat trips and visiting the gardens on Tresco. We found an excellent, informal restaurant almost opposite our B&B so we enjoyed some good food too.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Eeek @rowlandscastle444 you are right - 2037! I've had had some lovely holidays on Guernsey and Mum and Dad visited Alderney from there as a friend of their's had a yacht (not enough room for the rest of us!) and he sailed them there from Guernsey then brought them back. They loved it. Such a peaceful, pleasant island.
Busy, did you manage to get the ceiling painted without too many aches? Pace yourself with the rest of the job.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
We had our honeymoon on Guernsey, and returned a couple more times. I wanted to go on one of the small planes to Alderney. Eventually we did so, but flew from Southampton.Β We then had a couple more holidays in Alderney, until we discovered the Isles of Scilly.Β Then we were hooked.
Edited to add. Since then, we've had holidays on Jersey, and also visited Herm and Sark.
Not at all @Topbird. You obviously weren't to know and, besides, there are an infinite number of triggers for memories we wish or don't wish to have brought to the forefront of our thoughts. For example, mum was born in Jersey (mentioned earlier).
I think about her often and feel guilty if I realise it has been a while since she's been in my thoughts. So any reminder is good Β Β
Good afternoon all. Heads up for you - GW is on tonight and not tomorrow as usual.
Got to Bestie's to discover that her car had had to go into the garage for a repair so I took her to her 'sco so she could buy some basics for her son, DIL and Sofia getting home from their cruise tomorrow. I didn't stay too long as she is going out at 17:30 to meet up with her ex colleagues (ones who were after my time) for a meal.

I had a lovely day so far. My sister and I was at cottage and we were in onion harvest. What a job to celebrate birthdayπ. We didn't finish, but so far I have 113,5 kg of onions. Now is time for dinner and tea.Β
