Morning all. What a warm night. LB I hope Jack is well looked after in hospital. I hope he’s had a better night. I hope your friend is soon recovered and has plenty of rest and hot drinks. Topbird the campsite and area sound great. I hope you are well rested. Rosie
A very good morning Rosie and all who arrive later.
'Travels with T'Bird' is always a favourite to look forward to. It sounds like the campsite is a beauty T'Bird with everything you need close at hand and I'm including the sea in that list. You are not on your own at the moment with high 20s temperatures. It is similar here. My fan was on all night again last night and the temperature in my bedroom this morning is 27°C! There is one small furry friend also finding the heat too much despite still following then lying in the sunny spots around the house.

Good morning everyone .Far too hot for me ,give me a cool crisp day and I am happy . TBird I hope your holiday is super.I quite fancy a swim myself. I am expecting a few parcels today so won’t be too far from the house . Telephone consultation with practice pharmacist at lunch time.Have a good day .
It's 26 degrees in the garden already, in for a very hot day.
LB, oh goodness, poor Jack. I wonder what's happened? I do feel sorry for his daughter, it must be a nerve wracking time for her as he ages and gets more frail. Total empathy for her as our situations are quite similar. Your poor bestie too. After all these years it must feel so unfathomable to get it now. I do hope she shakes it off soon and isn't too poorly with it. How is the house sale coming along? Has it sold yet?
Topbird, the campsite sounds ideal for you both after your long long journey. Have a good rest now but your good sleep, last night will have done you the power of good. I can't remember the last time I slept for 9 hours.....my idea of heaven🙄🙂 The crystal clear waters sound just the same as at Greece, they were incredibly clear.
Must get to SM quick this morning before the heat rises. Catch you later. Stay cool if you can.
Good afternoon all. I met up with a friend at the local GC this morning and we had a pleasant time enjoying tea and cake and then a nice mooch amongst the plants. Two small asters came home with me. I spoke with Jackie about Jack. He is comfortable in hospital, blood tests have been taken and he is due an MRI scan soon (he may have had it already). Jackie herself is not well now. She has been upchucking all day. I suspect it may be linked with all the clearing of the mess yesterday.
It rained here this morning when we went out and now my car is completed covered in Sahara dust. I have never seen it so bad. Greg, my neighbour, cleaned his car at the weekend so I am blaming him! His car looks as bad as mine.
Hazel, Bestie only tested positive but she thinks she has just caught the bad cold that her daughter had last week. She is fine apart from a runny nose.

I didn't post this morning as I wanted to get out into the garden before it was too hot. I weeded the donkey fence bed with clematis and foxgloves and I finished weeding the veg garden.
CB, the French chap who looks after the garden while I'm away, called round. He saw the dead silver birch tree that I planted 2 years ago and saw his strimmer damage around the bottom of it. He was full of apologies. OH has promised to buy me another one. That one had been damaged by the hail storm last year anyway, although it had recovered. CB will cut back the brambles from the patch of land the other side of the fence that are trying to invade my veg garden and orchard.
I'm glad Jack is comfortable in hospital, best place for him at the moment.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Well done Busy for getting all of that work done. Its a shame about your silver birch but nice to know that you will be getting a replacement. You must be getting excited about coming back to Norfolk.

Evening all. Another very hot and very lazy day for us. Shower, eat, laze, swim - rinse and repeat. Easy dinner on the little BBQ and then we cycled down to listen to a band playing at one of the bars. They were pretty good but I'm glad we're not camped down there. I like to choose when I listen to music and what I listen to. Won't be going on beyond 11pm - it's not a noisy site thank goodness!
LB - sorry to hear Bestie tested positive for Covid but she's actually about the 6th person I know of in the last 2 weeks - which is a bit of a surprise considering most of us no longer have access to free tests and not many people still do regular tests. There were at least 3 people on the course at Keele who posted that they'd tested positive when they got home and a couple of people seemed to develop quite nasty 'colds' while we were there. Think there's a new variant doing the rounds.
Hope Ante's ok. It will have been hard this first week back at proper school and the heat won't help (although it's nowhere near as hot as it was a couple of weeks ago).
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
