@rowlandscastle444 I am just having a debate with myself as to whether I get out to 'sco now or leave it until Monday.

    Morning all from the CA,

I fell asleep before GW last night and woke just after 5am. Probably fair to say that golfing in the heat did for me ;)ย ย

I've done a quick lap of the back garden - a few cyrils apprehended and collected a bunch of sweet peas for the kitchen windowsill. After looking in a bad way a few months ago, Aurora (blueberry bush) has arrived at the party recently, so scoffed a handful on my way past. The other 2 blueberry varieties finished weeks ago so it's good that the season is prolonged by the late cropper. Especially as it looked on the way out!

Not much planned for today. I ought to get that trellis put up now I've actually finished painting it, I suppose....

Did my trip before 8am to said SM. Now even done a trip to the local Wilko. Staff are resolute and optimistic, and remain polite.ย
Home before it got too warm for me.

Hello all later arrivals! I did make my SM dash, as Monday might have been a bit of a pain with school traffic. I so love going early doors!
@rowlandscastle444, it is such a shame for the Wilko workers. I remember how sad the Morrisons workers were when they closed down the store in town. I went shopping there for bargains the day before it closed forever and I really felt for them.
Ruby your rose sounds lovely. What is it called?
Believe it or not I have just had a rain shower. I haven't yet looked at the car since I got home but it could be smothered in Sahara sand.
Its the Southport Air Show this weekend and yesterday there were jets whizzing over my house. It took me right back to my RAF days.
As Hazel mentioned yesterday, my weekend is all mapped out for me with the RWC! In case you missed the Haka yesterday, here is another one for you!

For all their challenge, it didn't do them any good with the host nation France beating them 27-13.

    Morning all.
Boiling hot here today, I'm staying indoors. I've just spoken to Mum who sounds full of cold, bunged up and croaky voice, but when asked, she said she didn't have a cold, bless her.
I feel very out of sorts at the moment, think it might be the heat or trying to navigate ย the local councils on-line account, it's so frustrating grrr... have given up for now.

Hope your rose arrives safely today Rubee, my mum has a white rose in her back garden( planted by my late brother) and it was in full flower the last time we stayed there. It was beautiful, a pure bright white.ย

Enjoy the Rugby LB, I know you will.๐Ÿ™‚

Hello Hazel. Maybe you should think about rescuing the rose and keeping it safe in your garden before the house is sold. I know that you had strong associations with your Mum and roses in the past. Signing out for tonight as there is something V. Important happening at just after 19:00 on terrestrial TV. My sister has sent me 10+ pictures of Marseille today and all I can say is a) I'm dead jealous and b) I would love to be there.
Poor little Lily does not know what to do with herself during these high temperatures. She finds a comfy spot and spreads herself out as much as possible.
    See you all tomorrow.

LB, I feel like little Lily๐Ÿฅต๐Ÿฅต๐Ÿฅต๐Ÿฅต Good idea, I might dig rose up when I next go.ย

Just found out today that Mum has Covid. Been clear all throughout Covid and not two months into the Care Home, and she succumbs, Three Carers have it plus a couple of other residents. Brother said she looked and was a bit better today. Also, house officially on the market for sale.ย

Signing off for now. Too too hot......
  • Heat got to both of my parents on holiday, so they drove through the day to return home, a week early.
    More worries!!
  • Very warm. ย Hazel good to hear mums feeling a little better. Rowlandscastle pobably wise. ย LB enjoy the rugby, it would be lovely to be there. ย My furry friend is very warm too. ย Had a snooze during the day but needed to, so awake now. ย Watching a drama covering some complex issues written in part by Horowitz and Douglas Henshall is one of the main characters, rather good. ย Rosie
