Despite having more apple stored than anything else, I think my favourite fruit stored for the winter is redcurrants. It's the vitamin C. A good British source, along with the blackcurrants, which didn't do so well this year.
LB that was a tiny parcel, glad you enjoyed a giggle with Jack. Yes I have noticed how dark it’s getting. Ante it’s hard working on a hot day, hope you’ve had plenty to drink and don’t feel dehydrated. Hazel I dozed off on the bed under a throw this afternoon and have just had a cup of tea. Rosie
@Ante1, mum seems to be feeling a bit better about being there now, thanks for asking. She is certainly more chatty than she has been for a while. Looking forward to seeing her next week. I didn't sleep too well last night @wfnp5bk4spsSNFYKh1, Rosie, so might throw a throw( 😲) on the bottom of the bed,to feel a bit more cosy. Hope you sleep okay tonight. Im signing off for tonight. Night all.
Very warm morning. Hope it's the last one like this till next summer. I slept well because I was quite tired. Forgot to mention that my sister will come next Tuesday. I must pick her up from the airport. It's time for cup of tea. Pets are, of course, all fed. 😁
Good morning Rosie and Ante. Temperature just comfortable here but Lily is unimpressed by the rain. I've towelled her dry - which she does like - and I don't think she will be going back out for a while. Can't see too much outdoor work going on but I will get my hollyhocks potted on.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Morning everyone, A sunny start to the day. Its supposed to be very warm today. We didn't get the thunder storms yesterday that were forecast for all afternoon and into early evening. Did get a bit of rain, but it didn't last long....but enough not to have to water the garden. Didn't sleep much again last night, need a cup of tea. Hope you slept better @Songbird-2 Good to hear your mum had settled a bit more. A worrying time for you and your brother, hope she's made some new friends. @wfnp5bk4spsSNFYKh1 you were awake early, I was trying to nod off again around that time. Hope you can have a relaxing day, take care. Have a lovely Sunday everyone.
I had a good day with my family yesterday. My son loved the album and all the family were crowded around excitedly crying out "Do you remember when ....". There were about 450 photos spanning his 40 years. I left at 8.30 last night as I didn't want too much driving in the dark.
I'm going to the church picnic after the service this morning. We rent a church that the French don't use and a nearby cottage with a garden that are used for events. The cottage was in a bad state and English C of E members did it up and put in a kitchen and 2 loos. There is small barn next to it which is now a secondhand English book shop. Shelves were put in by a retired English carpenter and the profits all go to charity.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good morning everyone .It’s stopped raining here. I will pop out later and do a bit of tidying up . Hazel .Rosie and Lily I hope you find time to rest today . Busy you sound to have a very active church where you live . Good to read that your church seems to be thriving.Love the pic LB .
