LB, out tomato season ended for us ages ago as we decided this year, to just have one plant. It'llย be an interesting experiment to see if your toms germinate and grow, exciting waiting for the results. Good news that the car has got through the MOT ok.ย Ive potted on more of the foxgloves, all done now and have sorted those I want to keep and those I don't..they've been chucked over the garden. They ย won't do anything as I've done that before and they just disappear over winter.ย
ย I've taken a risk and planted out 3 pots of Dianthus Deltoides Brilliant, I know it's early but will put domes ย over them overnight for some protection.
Thank you all for your welcome. We will be here for a month, then France for a month then I'm back to France for Christmas with my family and OH will be in England with his family. Don't know what we'll do when we are too old to travel. Worrying and not ecological.
From my point of view I wish first OH hadn't wanted to move to France, but I think my children have a better lifestyle there, houses are so much cheaper, more help from the state, cheaper living expenses, emptier better quality roads and so much more space and countryside. I still like England though, I like the people, the climate, the gardens.
There were still lots of cherry tomatoes in my French garden. CB will take them. The others were just about over.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Itโs been a fine day here and pleasant in the sunshine. We took a trip to Yorkgate gardens which was featured in gardeners world a few weeks ago. Only about an acre in total, but a very pleasant garden to wander around, plus a lovely cafe to take lunch in and a small gift shop and nursery selling some of the plants they grow. We had lunch but didnโt buy any plants on this occasion, but perhaps another time, as Iโm sure weโll visit it again now we know about it.
@Red maple, glad you had a nice day out, an acre sounds just right to amble around to see it all in the day. The fresh air and walking should hopefully ensure a decent nights sleep. @Rubee ,,how lovely to be in walking distance of these places. Wish we lived near some.
Hazel, I am picturing an absolute forest of foxgloves in your garden! The bees will love them!
Busy, you get the best of both worlds I think. Don't even think - let alone worry - about the age thing!
Red maple, you sound to have had a wonderful day and how nice that you are thinking of buying something on your NEXT visit! Forward planning - so important!
I tell you something, it is noticeably cooler today. Rosie, I might have to follow yours and Hazel's examples and dig out something warmer tonight.
Bestie is over covid so I am going to visit her tomorrow. We have a lot of 'world righting' to do!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Great news about your bestie LB, thank goodness. Hope you have a lovely reunion with her tomorrow and catch up on lots of gossip and news. Really cold here tonight, just shut up shop in the garden and there's a cool breeze about brrrr..... Night ย all, rest up and sleep well.ย
Golf again last night but might be the last midweek hack of the year if I start work on Monday. It was due to be this week but got moved last minute. Fingers crossed that I get another phone call putting it back
