    Afternoon all.
OH and I have visited a g/c this morning and stocked up with some bags of compost and a Geranium Stormy Night....nice change in foliage, deep purple.( now planted out). I've been potting on some fleabane,( and digging out some more from the lavender pot)  potted out some Monarda babies and generally tidied up.
    Have just made a Shepherds Pie...OH's favourite.....as haven't done it in a while...almost forgot the recipe😬

@Topbird, sensational pics ( love the mosaics) and that basilica with its age and history must have been fabulous to walk round. I can well imagine the atmosphere in there. I'd have been lost in centuries past.

LB, I've only got 26 foxgloves now so no Day of the Triffids  here😂Some of them will probably,'go' depending on how well they grow.

Im so pleased to hear Jack had returned home. I was just thinking about him this morning and wondering how he was and whether he would be allowed home or not.

Good afternoon all. Firstly i have to say that my mouth was watering when I read of your evening meal Busy. I'll bet everyone enjoyed such a sumptuous feast. And, yes, I am another one who goes out with a specific item in mind and then forgets to buy it because I have been distracted by other interesting things.
@Red maple, I've munched most of my tomatoes already so wouldn't have enough to make tomato sauce.
T'Bird, my sis went to Porec many moons ago and loved it. I can recommend Cyprus as a place to visit to see wonderful mosaics and old churches. Your picture of the basilica is truly stunning and I can imagine that the atmosphere in there was very tranquil. I had a look at the Latin but the only word I recognised was Piscinus - the pool. Did you get a pedicure from the little fish when you were swimming with them?
Rosie, 'berry' is one of my favourite colours too. Isn't it awful that we have to start planning our cold weather wear now?
Hazel, shepherd's pie is an absolutely wonderful winter warmer. Nice comfort food as well.
I spoke to Jack today before I went to visit my friend. He said he felt very tired but was making some porridge for his breakfast. The care team assessors are going round to his bungalow tomorrow to see what aids he needs to help him. I hope that they come up with a suitable care package soon.

According to my programme listings GW tonight is a repeat - first shown on 25/8/23. How very strange - unless VM are at it again. @Biglad, its the raspberry episode. I am signing out for this evening. See you all in the morning. I wonder if THIS time I will hear from the tree surgeon.

Hazel, Shepherd's pie is one of my favourite meals.

Beautiful basilica @Topbird. Your holiday sounds very interesting and varied.

We went to an exhibition of knitted Bible scenes in a local church today.

  • Topbird I was wondering what they were too.  Thank you for the lovely picture.

morning all.  Busy Happy Birthday 🐣🎶🐥.  Your meal sounds delicious.  Reminds me I need some more Baileys.  Ante I hope you get some rain today.  Had quite a downpour the other day.  Had a freebie magazine through the door with some recipes.  Red Maple I haven’t been to the Armouries but the Victoria Quarter is an interesting place to mooch round, Harlow Carr for plants.  Hazel I’ve put two Sherpa ochre throws on the sofa for warmth.  LB I used to go Amrricandancing which was quite swirly and we had a live band, it was a lot of fun.  I still have my dancing shoes.  Enjo your day everyone.  Rosie

Good morning Rosie and all to follow.

Rosie, next possible rain is forecasted for next Tuesday.

T'bird, I'm glad you had nice time in Porec, except omelet for breakfast. 😂 You were in Euphrasian basilica. Basilica in roman time was used as market or bath with pools. LB got it right with roman word for pool. I don't know do you have time to visit Pula on the south in Istria, but there you can see roman amphitheatre, temple of emperor Augustus and arch of the Sergii (golden gate).

I came quite late from cottage. Without rain, I had again a lot of work with watering, and potatoes are waiting for harvest. Next two days I'll just relax because last week was very busy. Now tea.

Mist on the meadow at sunset yesterday. It was quite lovely after very warm day.

A very good morning Ante and all arriving soon. I lovely Autumnal picture this morning Ante. I do like seeing the blanket of mist as it covers the fields. I have my fingers crossed you get some decent rain soon.
T'Bird, I meant to say yesterday, thank you for the explanation about the stone stacks. How fascinating they look.
Well after last night's GW I realised that VM had got the listing incorrect. They are having a problem with the TV signals in my area which they have been trying to correct for over a week now (so they keep advising me) and maybe that is the cause. I enjoyed the programme.
Busy those knitted biblical figures reminded me of the nativity set I knitted las year for one of the ladies at the Food Bank.
