    Good afternoon.
Itโ€™s dry and breezy here at the moment after heavy rain in the early hours.
I hope you are enjoying your birthday @Busy-Lizzie ๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿพ.
Going out for afternoon tea today in support of church funds.

Happy birthday @Busy-Lizzie ๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ‚๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฅ‚๐Ÿฅ‚ - hope you have great day. Love Snape Maltings and Aldeburgh ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Ante - sadly we won't be visiting Pula as we are now starting to make our wayย home. Will be in Italy tomorrow and then Austria. Did know about the amphitheatre in Pula but not the temple. We would definitely have gone if the weather hadn't been so very good (I don't like wandering round towns etc in the heat - that's time for books and sea). However, it just means we'll have to come back again (maybe next year) to do all the things we missed this time ๐Ÿฅณ

Hazel - sorry to read you had a disturbed night. I'm sure there are many thought and emotions churning around your head the moment. It will calm down eventually. Is your mum recovering from Covid OK?

Red Maple enjoy the church tea๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ˜‹

@topbird, Mum seems to have got over the covid, according to Carers and herself, but she sounds complete different. She talks as if she has bad cold, stuffed up nose and nasally voice. Everyone assured me she is fine but I'll feel better when I've ย seen her for myself. Thought are a-plenty at the moment. Night time is the worse. Thanks for asking though.

Have a safe journey home, take care.

Well I've been hanging around getting cobwebs all day, waiting to hear from the tree surgeon - zero; zilch; nada. I think its time to sack him off and get someone else. He better not call now as the rugby is coming on.
T'Bird and your OH, have a safe journey through Italy, Austria and onwards.

It's a pain when that happens LB. Hate waiting in for just about everything but when the event never happens it's just pants. Plenty of decent tree surgeons around. You'll know when you've found the best because they ask all sorts of tricksy questions, tell you about the checks they make with the council just in case there's a TPO / conservation area involved and tell you all about their public liabilty insurance - and that's before you even agree an assessment appointment...

    Enjoy the rugby!

Hazel - I'm sure you'll feel better when you've seen mum for yourself. Just bear in mind that Covid isn't a cold and some symptoms can linger for weeks even if she's well out of danger and otherwise feeling fine. A stuffy or sniffly nose may be her lingering symptom.

Posted my tree job on one of the trusted traders sites and I've had a call all ready. Chap coming next Tuesday to weigh up the task......well if he turns up that is
Wise words from T'Bird, Hazel but I know you will still be fretting. Hope you feel a bit warmer now, though I have noticed it is much cooler this evening and I need to put something warmer on.
One match down and another to go.
Signing out for today people. See you in the morning.

Thank you all for your birthday wishes. I've had a lovely day.

We went to the Snape Maltings in Suffolk and had a good look round the art galleries, craft shops and things for home and garden. OH says I'm like a bloodhound sniffing out plants! I headed straight for the plant sales before I even knew there would be plants for sale and bought a plant! A stachys with purple flowers.

Then we went to Aldeburgh and had lunch. We had oysters and fried crab balls in lobster sauce,ย then I had Crab Thermidor with salad and OH had seafood linguine. We looked around the town and the art galleries and walked on the promenade by the sea after lunch.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • LB I did the same from one of the sites and instantly had replies for my plastering job and it was done very quickly and he even put render in the hole in the kitchen, very pleased. ย Hope itโ€™s a good experience. ย I had an electrician from the same site and he was very good too. ย Hazel I hope mum makes some friends and that they provide some distractions for the residents. ย We had a lady from the Dogs Trust come to the coffee afternoon and she dressed as a pooch and she was so funny and informative and we gave donations. ย Topbird youโ€™ll be enjoying Italy soon and then onward. ย Take in all the sounds and surroundings. ย Ante Iโ€™ve looked online at your beautiful country. ย Rosie
