You're right - I did mention it @Ladybird4 so I knew it was coming. Just not sure exactly when. Turns out that I was sanctioned and started this morning. Been given a rough idea of what to do and made a start of sorts. Some busy folk might well be getting several questions fired at them in the morning. The 4-6 weeks mentioned in conversations previously might well extend. It sounds likely, unfortunately.
Just did a quick lap outside prior to it going dark. Any gardening during the week will have to be done pre-8am now. Some windy weather over the last few days has demonstrated that my pruning and tying back skills need more work. The loganberries are already looking unruly. The nearby tiny tayberry plant has put on a sudden growth spurt as well. Hope it's fine in the morning. Otherwise, I'm liable to forget and allow a jungle to develop in that corner of the back garden.
Wind is getting up here too Biglad. Blown over 23's bean plant. I've put it in the greenhouse. It's starting to flower again whilst the first green bean is growing ever longer. Topbird, poor souls, fancy picking up some nasty tummy big. Always feels worse when on holiday, fingers crossed you'll both be over it soon. Nice simple, bland food for a few days..... Ive been trying to book our covid appointments on-line tonight. I did mine and got a text sending me somewhere entirely different to where I had booked😲 Had to cancel that appointment so will try again in the morning. It would be good to get them done before we visits mum given she's just had it and others too in the Home. Don't want to pass anything on or get anything either. Signing off for tonight. Enjoy your curry LB.
Morning all. Thank you Hazel I had my winter dressing gown on yesterday, keep snuggly. Topbird glad to hear you’re both feeling better after a long sleep, plenty of fluids. Hope you’ve your energy back. Done the ironing and had some tea. Rosie
So sorry to read of your stomach bug T'Bird - the last thing you need on a holiday. Hope that by the time you read this you are both fully recovered. Sis, BIL, their family and I visited the Krimml waterfalls in the Glockner area when we were on Summer holiday in Söll. Austria is such a picturesque place to visit - Summer or Winter. Been skiing there too (I was rubbish!) and the stunning scenery of the Wilder Kaisser is glorious.
Had a delicious curry last night - a new one to me - lamb handi. It was recommended by the waiter and I found it had just the right amount of chillies. I do prefer the hotter curries.
Rosie, I have put the heating on for an hour as it was really cold in my house when I got up first thing.
Biglad, it chucked it down last night I could hear it on my windows. Got one tree man coming to give me a quote this morning and another tomorrow morning. At least they are going to turn up which is more than can be said for the first guy recommended to me. The friends who 'recommended' him were at the meal last night and they are mortified. I did assure them it was not their fault.

Good morning everyone . TBird I hope you and OH are feeling brighter. LB your meal sounds delicious . I hope your tree surgeon turns up today. Its been raining heavily all night. I intended to do some clearing up in the garden today .I guess I will have to do indoor stuff .Have a good day folks .
I don't think it's a gardening day today, grey, windy, chilly, rain forecast. I left my gardening jumper outside, it's absolutely sodden.
There is a load of cloth to flatten with the hot metal thingy, OH didn't do it when I was in France. I like to do it in front of the TV but with the Internet so on an off it makes watching the TV difficult.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good morning all, it’s very blustery out there today, but not too cold and, for now, not raining. I took the opportunity to nip outside and gather another crop of ripe tomatoes. There are a few left on the bushes, some almost ripe, some still a light green. I’ll leave them be for a few more days, but if they don’t look as if they are ripening I’ll bring them in to ripen on the window sill. After what seemed a very slow start, we’ve ended up with a good crop from just 3 plants. Like you @Busy-Lizzie, I’ve got some cloth things to flatten with the hot metal thingy, so will do that shortly- not much to do, but it’s staring at me when I go in the kitchen, so I’d better get it done. I like to listen to the radio when I do mine. I hope you’re feeling better @Topbird, and your OH. An iffy tummy is not pleasant.
Yes, indeed Ruby, loads of Marti here. Could be a crafting day.
Oh Busy, you have done a 'Ruby'. I remember that she once left her gardening jumper outside on a very rainy day with similar resuts to you!
Well the first of my tree men has been and weighed up the job (yay!). He quoted a price that I thought was very reasonable. I did tell him that I had another man coming tomorrow at 09:30 and he was fine about that so I will wait and see what transpires.
@Biglad - you'll get 'SQUARE EYES'! That advert does make me laugh as it was just what Mum and Dad used to say to us when we were small.
Hazel, meant to say that I was sad to hear about 23's bean. You could save some of the beans to grow next year maybe though you wouldn't get the name on them.
The wind has paid havoc with some of my sunflowers (well Jerusalem artichokes to be correct). Disappointingly, they haven't flowered this year so fingers crossed for next season.

As anticipated it's a bit too Marti to be out in the garden this morning. Oh well, best crack on with whatever it is I'm supposed to be doing...

I'll be mostly sitting in front of 2 laptops and a phone today
