Morning all. Wet and windy here and have ventured out for my blood test. Whilst there I asked if the surgery was doing Covid booster jabs this year and was told no, they weren't. Popped to SM on way home and saw a sight in the car park that brought back a few memories....a lady was wearing a see through plastic rain cap that you tie under the chin. I used to wear them way back when😂
RIP Roger Whitaker.
OH and I were at college/uni in the year he released the song Durham Town so brought him up in YouTube and listened to it. That took me onto another singer Jimmy Nail singing Big River. Funny how I went to college to do Classical music, ( still my first love) , started learning the guitar and ended up with a huge interest in folk music. Love those songs. It was very nostalgic for me listening to them.
At home OH and I have successfully booked an on-line covid jab for next Sunday. That's that job sorted.
LB, 23's bean is safe in the greenhouse but the one beam it has seems to be taking its time in filling out,but I'm in no hurry to get rid of it, so will wait and see what happens.
Ted Maple, my hot flat metal thing has already been out this week plus some furniture moving to c***n behind them😲😬😂
Hazel our local health centre isn’t doing Covid vaccinations. I’ve booked myself in elsewhere, hopefully that will transpire. Sad to hear of Roger Whittaker I do remember him, my granny used to have a waterproof rain cap many years ago. Popped out, raining and windy. Rosie
Good to hear you're sorted too Rosie with covid booster booking.
Spoke to mum today, still sounds as thought the covid symptoms are lingering. The Home, however, has confirmed that the covid has all cleared and all is well now.
I am going to sign out early today folks. Have a good evening.
Hazel, I have just got the 3rd Thursday Murder Club book - The Bullet That Missed. I really like the light hearted style of writing R.O. adopts when writing these novels. Looking forward to getting the fourth book soon.
I hadn't heard about the passing of Roger Whittaker. Was he the singer who did a lot of whistling in his recordings? Speaking of Jimmy Nail, and following on from Auf Wiedersehen Pet, a friend of mine bought me his recording of 'Crocodile Shoes'. I cannot remember what was on the flip side but I quite enjoyed listening to that - for a short while! Pleased to hear your mum is now clear of Covid. I go for my flu injection on 23rd but have not had any summons for my covid one yet.
Signing out for today. See you all tomorrow.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Evening everyone, goodness it's so windy tonight. It was dark quite early too. Not raining at the moment but, its been pouring down most of the day. Seems very miserable for September. Not read back, but hope everyone is well.
Morning all. Lily it’s been rather windy here too and you’re right the dark nights are drawing in. I don’t mind the rain too much and I’m more of an autumn girl. We’ll soon be treading on crunchy leaves fallen from the trees. I’ve just had some tea and resting on the bed. Rosie
It's lovely sunny and fresh morning. We had rather intensive storm yesterday afternoon, luckily short one. But I got much desired rain, so no watering at least few days. I also spent almost whole afternoon at vet office. My neighbor found a cat in her garden, and he was stroke by car. At the end he was put asleep because injuries was to heavy. After that we went to small shopping and dinner.
Now I have my tea, then it's school, and I hope cottage this afternoon.
