Have attended a rather lively meeting at a local Councillors Ward Surgery tonight. It is with regards to a property quite near to us so we decided to lend our support. A bit of a Jackie Weaver night!π Huge amount Β of objections from the audience. The Hall was laid out with four rows of chairs( about 8 -10 in a row)....they had to add about another 6 rows of chairs to accommodate the large audience who attended. Think the Councillors got a shock at the amount of folks coming in. Signing off for now. Hope the brain calms Β down a bit now.....night all.Β
Good morning everyone. I cannot quite believe that it is a year since the passing of our late Queen. That year has flown past.
RWC starts today. Sis and BIL will be at their caravan in La Londe, going to the England v Argentina match in Marseille tomorrow. I hope it isn't too hot for the players who start their tournament today. I am going to play Canasta this afternoon - not quite as energetic as rugby - but at 27 that, quizzing and gardening are mostly the sum of my activities these days!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Tomorrow I will be staying with Daughter 1 near Poitiers as it is oldest grandson's birthday party and he wants family to come. He has asked me to make a cheesecake so I'll do that this afternoon.
On Tuesday I'm flying back to OH in Norfolk. Not long now and I have various things to do in house and garden before I leave. I hope the forecast rain happens next week but CB says he'll do watering.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good morning Busy. How very reassuring it must be to have someone like CB handy to look after your garden during your Norfolk times! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get some rain.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
I heard on the Beeb about the Saharan sand which had been coating everything yesterday as it was washed out of the atmosphere by the rain. My dustbins are all coated and this is what my poor car looks like:

Hazel, are they wanting to demolish the property, build on the land or change its usage? I am very cynical about some things these days as it seems that if the money is available it doesn't matter what the public think but schemes will get pushed through.

Going to try and get some stuff done in the garden this morning and then another edition of hacking a little ball around with a metal stick. It looks like the rising heat levels will reduce the enjoyment of both activities. I'll probably still be in shorts in November so you can imagine how much I get on with heatwaves Β Β
