Morning all. I too had a restless night but this seems to be the norm at the moment.

Gosh, SGL, that mist/fog sounds thick, hope it burns off or dissipates over the morning for you. It feels cooler here this morning but we're planning on a quick trip into town this afternoon and that will be it for the day.

Β Garden work is pretty much up to date now, just keeping an eye on all the plants in the greenhouse and cold frames but that's it for now. I noticed the Crocosmia leaves are beginning to die off now so will get them down before the end of the month...we have our last green waste collection from the council then so will clear anything else for then, too.

Lovely to see you @Ante1, thought you would be busy and at least now all the heavy work is finished, you will have more time for yourself. Have a good day at school.

I must get my flat hot metal thing out this morning.

Good morning Ruby and Hazel. 'Tis the season for the vampires I reckon πŸ§›πŸ» I should get my results tomorrow with a bit of luck.
SGL, I remember you giving us the heads up when they put those bar code strips along the edges of our stamps.
Hazel, I am pleased that my council collect the green bins all year around - I can always find something. Suitable green stuff goes into my compost bin but persistent weeds etc. go in the council bin.

Can't believe that's going to be the price of stamps now, gosh. Think I'll have to have a rethink too, about who gets cards now. That's an extortionate amount really. Second class not much better.Β
Have done my indoor job now which included doing some of mum’s clothes which I've rescued. They've come up nice after a wash etc so they will go back with us on our next visit, for mum to wear. I have sorted her clothes now, took me ages, so will need to dispose of those now to the various different places.Β
I've seen a blue tit and jenny wren, plus a female blackbird in our Rowan tree and a griselinia this morning, hurray! Blackbird was gorging Β on the berries.Β

Shame about stamp prices. I love sending and receiving Christmas cards and it's a good way of keeping in touch.

I left my washing out. We had a short sudden thunder storm with a mini power cut. Wasn't forecast. Now raining, the washing can stay there.

I did some gardening this morning, mostly weeding. Since it was raining I watched the Strictly Results, right one went.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

I haven't watched Strictly so far Busy but they did reveal who had been eliminated. I won't say who - no spoilers - but I had to agree as the dancer looked very wooden on the short clip I saw.
I managed to get some weeding done this morning and I planted some daffodil bulbs before rain stopped play.
I am signing out for tonight - being picked up at 19:45 for the quiz and I need to get organised.. See you all tomorrow.

Good morning everyone. I think that rain might be stopping play again today. Enjoyed last night at the quiz. We came second again. There were some very noisy people in the bar so hearing the questions was a bit of a trial. Got another match next Monday.

    Morning all,

Did you win anything for 2nd @Ladybird4? We got a free drink at our quiz the other week!

Been Marti here overnight but sun is actually out at the moment. I've done 3 hours work and a lap of the garden - is it bedtime yet? ;) Salvia hotlips is rejuvenated after looking a bit glum for a few weeks. It looks like it thinks it's springtime, which made me smile - full of flowers again.

First pay day today. It includes a nice tax refund - the joys of PAYE when you haven't earned a penny for 3 months :D I think that I'll now be able to invest in a couple of apple trees and some roses at the weekend.

    Morning all.
Well done LB, 2nd place is no mean feat.Β
Biglad, great news about tax refund, go wild ......
Sun is out here this morning but temperatures are down to only 10 degrees so chilly outside. I have plenty of deep c***n jobs to do today so will crack on and get organised.

    Good afternoon,
popped into town this morning to buy some fish from the market and some dried fruits ready for the C…….s cake from the deli. Then this afternoon we had afternoon tea booked at the local garden centre, and very good it was, too. Whilst there I bought some winter pansies and violas for a trough we have in the back garden which had tomato plants in. Will rejuvenate the compost a bit and get them planted into it tomorrow. The colours should look nice and cheerful during the winter days ahead. We can see the trough from the kitchen window.
Its been a mixed bag of weather here today, with showers this morning followed by sunny spells and now it’s getting quite windy, too. I think I’ll hunker down now with my book.
