A very good morning one and all. Well we have just about finished the first of the 'ber' months and I know its a little premature but I do wonder if we are going to have another relatively mild Winter when it arrives - well in my area anyway. Time will tell.
@Biglad, I do have to 'fess up to being a little bit of a petrol head!

Morning everyone,Β Looks beautiful outside this morning. Sun is streaming through the oak tree.Β Leaves are still very green. Supposed to be warm for the next few days.Β Your new car sounds very nice @Ladybird4 We had heated leather seats in OH car.Β Very nice to take the chill off in winter. Happy travelling. Shame you couldn't dig up your mum's rose @Songbird-2 do hope the cuttings take.Β Glad your mum is feeling better from Covid. Take your time sorting your mums belongs, a very sad time for you. Look after yourself too. Where did September go, can't believe it's October already tomorrow. Have a lovely day everyone.Β
Good morning everyone . Big Lad are you a coffee drinker ? One of my cousins only drinks water and fruit juices.Enjoy your new car LB .Hazel take it steady love .Be kind to yourself.Lily is it a gardening day for you?
OH is a lot better. He did some mowing yesterday afternoon.
My sister and her OH are coming to lunch. Sister isn't bothered about Covid, said she's been vaccinated and has had Covid twice. They are staying the weekend with a friend who has moved near here.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
SGL, you sound to have a lovely morning. Its grey, damp and cold here. No rain but very heavy dew which will be frost when the temperature drops. I've got Lily's TV on but doubt my cloth things will dry. There is no wind to speak of outside.
Ruby, I've weeded some of my drive - that is a marathon job. but come in to hug a mug and thaw my hands out.
Busy, my family and friends have the same attitude as your sister. Pleased to hear that your OH has got over the bug.
Hazel I meant to say yesterday that I was sorry you couldn't retrieve the rose from your Mum's garden. Fingers crossed you get a cutting to take root. Failing that, if you know the name of the rose you could just buy one and plant that as a 'memory' to have in your own garden.

Afternoon all. Rosie, @wfnp5bk4spsSNFYKh1 , hope you're ok after the covid jab. Just rest and take it easy for the rest of the day and tomorrow and hopefully you'll be alright by then. We had our flu jabs this morning and no sooner did we get to the surgery and the lady came out and shouted our names. Didn't even have time to sit down and it was well before our due time.Β I took lots of cutting LB and @star gaze lilyfrom the rose but unfortunately, I don't know its name. From the look of it I assume it's a common rosa rugosa (?) but it is rather beautiful when in flower.( as it still was) . @Rubee , planning on taking it easy this afternoon after a busy morning. I was going to start sorting through mumβs clothes ( gosh, it sounds as if she's no longer with us π’) but can't face it just now. Too tired at the moment. It will wait.. Biglad, Β hope your work is going Β along okay for you. Maybe you may get some time to yourself today?Β OH has cut one lawn but he's jiggered too so that's enough for us for today. We are quite amazed at what flowers we still have in flower this year and all the colours are lovely to see. I noticed we are having a second flowering of some lobelia Β and penstimons, knautia macedonica and the geums are flowering their heads off. All most odd but nice.Β
Hazel it was good that you didn't have to hang around waiting for your flu vaccination. At my surgery last Saturday it was almost like being on a conveyor belt but very speedy nonetheless. This is Rosa rugosa. I have a white one. Is your Mum's like this?
