Indeed @didyw … I was thinking of DD just the other day … summer is always busy for her and this heat must make things tricky, plus moving her home etc. 🤞

Coccinella,no I didn't have many (any) gadgets. I didn't bother skinning for the fresh sauce, but Doves recipe she passed on, says a few minutes in the oven. Can't find the blasted jars though. The ones I have just filled were ones I have saved..... the old man's Branston pickle and apricot jam. I'll have to ask my neighbour to save hers(shock, horror, she buys tomato sauce 😂)

Update on the weather - I hope the people norf are ok!  @Obelixx  @Busy-Lizzie @floralies and @D0rdogne_Damsel   There have been violent storms today and the Dordogne area is still on Red Alert tomorrow for high temperatures.  We here, in Herault have passed to Orange Alert and will drop 10°C to 32°C tomorrow.

The garden is very stressed.  And!  Maybe some rain Sunday!!

We aren't on red alert in North West Dordogne @tui34, we are on orange alert. Forecast is for 25° tomorrow afternoon, end of heatwave, thank goodness. We are on yellow alert for storms tonight.

Morning all. Minus 4.5 this morning 🥶. It makes it hard to get out of bed.

Sorry to those of you with heat worries. I’m not looking forward to that.

    Good morning all.

Yes, still nice and warm here but there is a light breeze with a hint of freshness in it.  Should be the final day of  >:) here.  Even Lucifer has to have a holiday!!  I hope @Busy-Lizzie and @floralies survived the storms - there's been some wild damage from them north France. (the storms not the girls!!  :D )

@Dovefromabove   even if they tiptoe, our antennae are alert!!  I'm so glad that he has "made it".  He will be tired today.

@AnnaB  Congratulations to your grandson on his exams.  From what I have read, the results this year aren't as expected.  So well done young man!

Went out to check for snails on the lettuces earlier this morning and have lost a few of my brassicas during the night - four in all - 1 red, 2 white cabbage and 1 broccoli - none next to each other, seemed to have just "melted". Their neighbours look like they are well on their way.  They're not in the same bed as the lettuces and they are netted.  No sign of "overhead" damage.  I think there could be a little someone in the soil.  Bummer!

If you are a Louis here is the saying for today:
Beau temps de Saint Louis, plusieurs jours sans pluie.   Not quite the case for the weekend.  It looks as if we will get some rain on Sunday and even a bit of lightning!!
    Woo-hoo!

A pleasant day to you all.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
Bright sunshine with dark shower clouds drifting overhead. Still quiet here as son is at the festival until Tuesday-ish. The phone reception isn’t good where he is, but I’ve had a text  “…I’ll be fine. Everything’s good no need to worry x”. Bless him 😊
