    Morning all.

I had a good day with my family yesterday. My son loved the album and all the family were crowded around excitedly crying out "Do you remember when ....". There were about 450 photos spanning his 40 years. I left at 8.30 last night as I didn't want too much driving in the dark.

Going to the church picnic today.

Morning all, that sounds like a grand day that you had with your family @Busy-Lizzie, photo albums certainly bring back those memories!
Glad to see you have some rain @tui34, we are having some too!
    Have a good day all.

Morning all. Lots to read back, I cleared my cookies earlier in the week and couldn’t find my password to log back into the forum.
Mainly demolition gardening here, cutting back overgrown shrubs and more brambles to pull out. OH has been helping out in the garden for August, before returning to house DIY in September, so getting as many heavy jobs done as possible. Filled the green bins with a week to go, so had to do a run to the tip with boxes of shreddings and bundles of the thicker branches.
Planning to pop up to a local show tomorrow, tractor pulling and steam engines, so a day at home today, with a Grand Prix for OH to watch. Planning to make some pancakes after our sleep in.
After lots of problems trying to sleep on my preferred side, which has a painful hip, I have been training myself to sleep on my back. Seems to be working now, trick was the pillow under my knees to help flatten my back, hip only hurts at night anyway, so a big improvement. OH says he hasn’t been woken by any snoring, which I was worried about.

Rain all night here. Late yesterday evening elderly cat decided that she needed visit to the garden. Sat by the cat flap poking her nose in and out and looking back at me as though it was all my fault. Eventually she just had to brave it, returning some 15 minutes later soaking wet and not happy. I offered to dry her off but my suggestion was refused in no uncertain terms, instead she attacked her late night feed and put herself to sleep in her usual spot on my bed. She has just woken for breakfast and taken herself outside again to make sure the rain has stopped. I told her that it had and not to worry because it was heading over to the west to visit our friend @Dovefromabove later today (sorry Dove).
Rain or dry, have a good Sunday folks.

Morning all, woke up to sunshine but it's now clouding over so not sure what we'll do today. Really pleased that OH has managed to get my recliner back down to it's standard sitting position. I'm too worried to use the remote so will just use a footstool for now. Really, really didn't want to fork out £1K for a new one! so a big relief.

Sounds a really pleasant day out @Hostafan1, just what you needed. Hope work goes well.

OH watched the GP as well @Ergates, the only problem is that it always seem to be on during dinner time (we can't record on our TV) so he eats whilst watching it and I sit in the dining room. Thank goodness it's only on once a fortnight! Our green bins are full up and we've more clearing up to do.

@AnnaB, that sounds just like our little old cat, not at all keen on the rain. We think he'd always been an inside cat as it took me 6 weeks to entice him through the cat flap and at first he hated walking on the grass! He was such a sweet timid cat and much missed.

Glad you had such a good day yesterday @Busy-Lizzie but 450 photos! no wonder you were stressed out getting all those done. A lovely memory book he'll always treasure.

    Hello all Forkers,

A lovely fresh morning here, finally some pleasant temperatures. So good that BEFORE the Sunday croissants we went for a short walk in the woods. Even spent half hour tidying up some garden mess. Wanted to work for longer but a sharp reminder from the lower back put a quick stop to it.
OH is cooking Amatriciana sauce to go on penne and I am sitting here chatting. Bliss 😊

@Lizzie27 There's a house with a resin driveway a few streets away. It looks really good, it has been there a while, they are becoming more popular here as people get used to them. If I walk that way I will take a pic.

Sounds like a lovely day yesterday for Hosta. That rain that you noticed was heading towards us here in the East got me yesterday @AnnaB
After a mooch about town with my daughter to buy a b'day present for her cousin's 50th, I got caught at the last bit of walk home.  To arrive back to a power cut - the 4th this year.  It usually affects just 25 houses around us - some sub-sub-station I think.  The lady at EDF said it would be back on at about 7.30pm so we had a quick change of menu as we could cook on the hob.  It actually came on an hour earlier than that.  OH already had some potatoes waiting to roast in the oven - they are still there.  Now we don't know what to do as we have eaten the chicken that was supposed to go with them!
Still, the garden got a watering and I can get a good couple of hours in I think before the rain comes again later.

    Hi all

Lovely stroll round the Botanical gardens this morning, was chatting to the guy that looks after the S.A. garden, sad to learn that he has had several rare plants stolen recently. What is wrong with people?
