My daughter arrived late so I had to hastily cook another seabass fillet, good job they only take 15 mins in the oven. Revised our plans for tomorrow in view of the dire weather forecast so may go shopping instead, preferably undercover!

That quote doesn't sound too bad @Busy-Lizzie, is the tree very tall? I bet the windows will be more!

We're waiting for the moon to rise - it was quite big last night.

Ahhh got it @punkdoc . I am usually awake at 3, told OH that I will pull up the bedroom shutters to see it at its peak.

    Evening all.

Today I helped Mellors to split a pot full of Crocosmia Lucifer. I needed a sack truck to move it and I couldn't even get a fork into it when I tried. He managed to weedle his way in down the side and it took us an hour to get them all out. I was knackered! Over 200 bulbs and several dozen rotten and split rejects. My hands are sore.

After a quick coffee date in a local car park ❤️🤣 we came back and tackled the giant juniper! Dear Lord! The main stem, when we finally found it, was eight inches thick! It just went on and on! I now have the pleasant task of dealing with the mountain of stuff. Some will shred, some will be logs and the rest will go to the recycling centre. I can hardly wait. Any ideas what to do with a cubic metre of juniper bristles?  :s We uncovered a low wall and some huge stones from the old house that was there so that gives me another little planting pocket for my million plants that are on the go!

I dragged myself out late in the afternoon to put all my stuff away and as I staggered back to house, all weak and feeble, the DPD man arrived with a gift from Farmer Gracy! Suddenly, as if by magic, I was rejuvenated! 😲  Some fancy Muscari, equally fancy alliums spotted on the garden lovelies thread and other stuff I can't remember.

My new cold frame is fabulous and the window even fits and everything. It's forecast rain tomorrow so it looks like I'll be starting a second cold frame and hopefully my slatted benches for the garage/greenhouse combination.

Today was great despite my sleepless night! ❤️

Morning folks. Interesting start to the day with no power. Vegemite on bread (not toasted) and thermos warm/hot tea. No TV and no fan on the wood heater. We plan on spending a good part of the day in town and hope the power will return as promised at 3.30. 😏  At least it’s sunny and no wind, so I suppose that’s not too bad. We received another letter from the power company yesterday advising that they plan on doing it again next week . 🤬 der!

Good (very early) morning all 🥱 and hello @Pat E 😊  … my phone tells me it’s about 1:42pm where you are … so hopefully not too much longer to wait for some power now  🤞

I left the blinds open so I could see the Super Blue Moon … and now it’s creeping around towards the western skyline it’s shining directly through the window onto our pillows …

A bit af a blurry pic but it’s very bright …

It’s dipped low on the horizon and is shining through the branches of the big oak tree at the top of the rise … I’ll go back to sleep now …

Good morning everyone,  quite a cool start here, but hazy and overcast.
We had good views of the moon from around 9pm, on and off as the clouds kept swirling round.
We have been busy in garden and on plots,  I spent most of Tuesday up a ladder,  at then end of the day I noticed a line of bite marks at the top of my thigh, my OH,  then noted a whole line of marks all up my leg. I  can only think something like an ant had climbed up biting me on the way, very itchy 😬

    Morning all.

The clouds cleared and I saw the blue moon. It was big and golden and you wouldn't have needed a torch to look around the garden.

Ouch @Allotment Boy. Were you wearing long trousers?

Back to painting today, a bit to finish on the landing and a 3rd coat is needed on the bits that were dark wood. Then the stairwell.
