My Aunty shift is done so it’s all quiet this morning with soft rain outside. It was mostly cloudy last night so moon view wasn’t great but when it peeped out it was very bright. I love seeing a full moon 🌕
I have a load of Victoria plums (from my sister) so I’m just deciding what to do with them 🤔
@Busy-Lizzie and @plant pauper - I'm exhausted just reading about what you two have been up to! In the garden I mean - not this: "After a quick coffee date in a local car park ❤️🤣" !
No gardening for me over the past few days as I've been stuck on admin and now I must tidy the house as my sister et famille arrive tomorrow. Not staying with us, I hasten to add. But we'll have to feed them something at some point.
Have just finished a slew of emails. Having booked in 60 traders for the forthcoming Food & Drink street market, emailing each individually with their particular details, I now have to create invoices for those who have their books done by accountants. More work.
@Busy-Lizzie, I hardly ever wear shorts, and certainly not when gardening. The sight of my skinny white pins would probably make the plants wilt anyway. 🤣 Just glad whatever it was stoped where it did and didn't get to the middle (ooh er misses 🥴).
I've finished the stairwell ceiling, was able to lean over the landing banister for some of it. Done the second coat on the landing and the bedroom door.
It was windy this morning and the peaches are falling off the tree. I've frozen 4 bags of peeled, sliced peaches.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I was cooking, picking tomatoes, knitting, reading, folding and putting away laundry, more cooking, more knitting and then watching athletics … but possibly not in that exact order.
@Busy-Lizzie. It’s a while since I’ve had a really good fresh peach. 🤤
Time for bed now … it’ll be September tomorrow … !!!

I was making stagings for my ungreenhouse. They're 'sturdy'!😳 I impressed myself and disguised my mistakes rather well I thought! As I was chopping and sawing the leccy-board-tree-chopper-downer called and we had a marvellous chat. Not only will they take my massive goat willow down to the nub but they'll chip it too and give me the chippings! My dead larch isn't on his list as it's not near the wires but... if I slip the men a few quid they'll probably do that for me too. How many chippings will that be. I'm going to need more compost bins. Mine have a capacity of about 1.5 cubic metres each and I don't think that'll be enough. 🤣 Tomorrow I have to go shopping. 😍 Screws, hinges, wood, brackets... I love it!

We saw the moon before we went to bed but when I got up in the early hours it had clouded over, as usually happens here.
Good luck with the painting @Busy-Lizzie but be careful on the stairwell. Always a tricky area to paint.
Ouch @Allotment Boy, have you any aloe vera plants handy or good old-fashioned calamine lotion?

I hope everyone is doing ok.

Missed the moon.
Finished the landing, now for the second coat on the stairwell starting with the ceiling. Luckily the ceiling is quite low, old cottage.
