Good afternoon everyone, what a lot of chat. Happy anniversary to Wonky & hubby, best wished to Hosta. I know all about, difficult anniversaries coinciding with happier ones my late brother died on the same day as the twin GC's 8th birthday so was always a mixed day emotionally for several years afterwards. We have been real gadabouts this week last nights show was the Temptations, the motown group. Though I knew some of the story, it makes you realise how much some of these performers give up in their personal lives in the pursuit of their careers.
Aw @Dovefromabove - I would have loved to have seen you! I was running around in town today getting things ready for the big Parade tomorrow. The Earsham Street Cafe is lovely! And you heard our Town Crier!
Just alighting at home for a shower and a bite to eat before heading off to see the Black Dog Running Club arriving in town carrying the Black Shuck effigy and then to the Fisher Theatre for the Cabaret!
@didyw 😊 we didn’t get in touch cos it was short notice and we knew how busy you’d be (been there, done that). We’ll get in touch next time … promise 😊
it was very hard to miss the Town Crier … and as OH was getting some change for the carpark (by buying chocolate 😆) a woman said to him ‘The Town Crier is just up there!’ so we couldn’t really miss him could we 😉

Shower people still here, job's taking longer than expected with a few snags on the way, one of which being an 'oops' moment, my fault entirely as I had forgotten to tell them that there was a mirrored recess in the main bathroom directly behind the shower in the en-suite. The inevitable happened and a screw was drilled right though the mirror the other side. Not a big problem and he'll get a new mirror cut and fitted tomorrow when he comes back to finish off the job.
13C still, overcast and dry so far today … I hope it stays dry for @didyw’s Black Dog festivities but looking at the weather app I think brollies will be needed today.
Niece is on her way to Barcelona … she said she’s looking forward to being dry … Paris was very wet!
Coffee is on its way ….

I hope @didyw enjoys her day, despite all the hard work.
It's the church summer fair today but the weather forecast isn't very good. Cool and grey at the moment. May rain a bit this afternoon. I helped last year, it was sunny and hot. I haven't had time to help this year.
Yesterday was a good gardening day, no visitors, no rain, not too hot. I spent about 4 1/2 hours, mostly weeding in the vegetable garden and tying up the autumn raspberries which have grown very tall this year.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Well, in the just over an hour since I posted we’ve had heavy rain which looked as if it was going to continue for hours, then suddenly the sound of heavy rain stopped and I looked up to see the sky brightening … it’s almost sunny … 🤞

Morning everyone, well the forecast rain has arrived here, and just become much heavier in the last few minutes. We had a good gardening day yesterday too. Some of the work was additional trimming of plants such as our large camelia in the front garden. A lot of things pruned earlier have regrown, due no doubt, to all this rain.
Hopefully we will get our walk before the forecast high winds start in earnest. Will be soggy underfoot, I didn’t hear it myself but it rained very heavily for three hours during the night. @Lizzie27, that ‘oops’ moment was definitely not your fault at all! The shower person should have checked before drilling the hole, imagine if it had been an electrical cable or a water pipe hidden in the wall! Been there, done that!

The weather was kind and we had a very good lunch
