It’s so obvious @Hostafan1 … it’s done so many times by unscrupulous developers … buy a place, it somehow ‘catches fire’, they get the insurance to pay out what they paid for it plus they get to build something, free from the higher costs of developing the building whilst preserving their historical and architectural significance … it happens all the time. 😡

Morning all, a chilly night here of 10 deg, I had to get up and shut the window at 3am! I felt as if I was in a cold wind tunnel. A few hot days forecast so there should be plenty of ripening tomatoes and aubergines and beans .......!
Sorry to see you're not feeling so good @punkdoc you have some warmer temperatures on the way so perhaps a sit outside will help.

    Morning all.

Sad about Tolly Cobbold. My Granny was a Cobbold. I was born in Ipswich.

Weather is getting warmer this week, sunny now. I'm going to take OH out for lunch today at the lovely trout farm place by the weir. The trout there are not like the poor salmon in Lyn's thread.

    Hi all

Some sunshine today, so might be able to sit out.

Morning all, boo hoo, we've got rain and it's expected to get heavier by lunchtime - just as my gardener is due to come. I had wanted her to plant my new rose in a big pot but that might have to wait, although we could move the big umbrella down to under the terrace to shield her if need be. We'll have to wait and see.

OH's nephew called in to look at our stair project which is doable but as he's fully booked means a wait of about 8 weeks. We don't mind as I'm getting better by the day and hope to come off the morphine next week. Nephew measured up and each existing stair is a different height! Strange.

News from poorly brother and SIL is not good, she's been in and out of hospital over the weekend and may need a operation asap. She's working herself into a right old tizzy trying to work out how my brother will cope, he really needs somebody with him 24hrs.
Fortunately as we're a large family and she does have adult children, I'm sure we can work something out. It's a pity that Stoke is a long way from us, otherwise we could help out more.

It's a year today that OH had his hip operation, that has gone very well and he's very pleased with the result - now just needs to get the other one done. Hope you manage to get out into the garden @punkdoc, I'm a great believer in the power of sunshine and fresh air to make you feel better.

I've just seen that the Wonky pub was demolished, presumably overnight, how suspicious is that? In fact stupidly suspicious. I hope they make the new buyer re-build it and refuse any planning approval for anything else.
