OH is hoovering.  I'm about to strip the bed (meant to do it first thing but...).  And then I think I'll clean the cooker.  A fun Sunday!

Afternoon all, mixed sunshine and showers today. I walked with OH this morning as far as the bridge over the stream - first time for over two months I think. Really enjoyed it and the sit down with coffee afterwards. Did some towel washing and battled with the laptop to download an update for my family history programme - cost more than the original!

After lunch and a read of the Sunday paper, I had a potter round the garden. Nearly two hours later, I'd pruned a climbing rose and the wisteria growing through it. Tidied up three other shrubs, planted the two small alpine's I bought on Friday, an pink erodium and a purple oregano. Picked some more tiny cherry toms - yippee and watered four potted roses. Collapsed in a big heap now with a cup of tea and choccie biscuit.

@AnnaB, sounds a bit hairy, perhaps you should make the trip perhaps once a week. Wouldn't do for the Landy to completely seize up, would it?

@Dovefromabove, there was an article on the paper this morning about bed bugs becoming a big problem in hotels and causing lots of irritating bites on tourists - hope it's not that. We found Autan to be pretty good as well.

Thankfully niece is pretty sure it’s not bedbugs. She said they’ve been inspecting the beds carefully when they arrive at each hostel. She said she was attacked by mosquitoes in Venice yesterday … she said they were voracious  🦟

I had an Italian boyfriend a few years ago and would many summers there, they are absolutely awful this time of year. Thirsty little buggers. Some are even out up until the depths of winter!

Hello and welcome @Teacup. They sell Autan in France too. My OH is often bitten, I'm not. I wondered if it's because I use perfume and body lotion. I live in France and OH lives in Norfolk. We met after we were both widowed. My family are in France and his are in Englnd.

Funny you mentioned that @Hostafan1, I was thinking of @chicky too today. I came across an old photo of a Forkers outing years ago while I was researching photos for Son's album.

    Good morning Forkers

    Back in Lux extremely tired.
We found a kitchen with flies Yuk! Never happened before I am still thinking where and how they hatched. There was no food left around. Anyway, spent a long timing cleaning, not what you want to do after a long drive.
Then went outside to pick blackberries as tons have ripened. Can't waist them, can I? So I froze a large batch.
I had a great time in Suffolk and Dorset, grateful that all went well.
Visited my in-laws, Fil poorly. His dementia has changed his personality, so sad.
Also been with younger son and his girlfriend, I hope it works out for them.

Now that I am back I will try to keep up with you lot. Have a nice day, now I am going downstairs for a cuppa and to start the first washing machine load of many.

Good morning all and welcome home @coccinella

Misty, overcast but a bit of a breeze this morning.  This is typical mid-August weather after the heat - the heavens normally open,.  No heavy rain forecast, but maybe a shower or two, so I'll get out and spread out some fertiliser balls.

I'll also buy my brassica seedlings today, but will take my little spade and plastic bag to pick up some horse manure on my bike/run this morning and prepare the soil a bit.

Mozzie weather here too @Dovefromabove and other teensy tiny midges that bite with effect.  My ankles are quite damaged.  I bought an over the counter anti-mozzie bracelet with a couple of refills to wear - it smells nice of citronella and seems to work.  I dab on oil or essence of citronella at night.  But there's always one around 5am....zzz....zzz!!

I hope everyone has a pleasant day.
