    Hello all

I too have noticed the nights closing in faster @Hostafan1 . I do love autumn but there's the inevitable melancholy that accompanies it. Anyway let's cheer up it's not November yet!

Slept badly, what's new. Had a productive morning nevertheless and this afternoon we are going to see Hoppeneimer. Will I nod off? Better pour some espresso in me before we leave.
Hope you are happy on this (UK) Bank Holiday.

    Morning all.

I love Autumn, particularly if above average temps but yes, there is a sense of the dark coming…

It’s a full, super and blue moon on 30th.

    Morning all.

Is your Laptop beyond repair @Lizzie27? I hope you get your data back.

It rained this morning. Now that it's cooler I can get on with painting the landing again. The ceiling needs a second coat. Really don't feel like it, makes my arm ache, but needs must.

Tonight I'm babysitting overnight for Son 2. His wife is taking him to a lovely hotel by a river for the night.

What is all this talk about Autumn?  It is still August!

I too was tackling brambles yesterday @AuntyRach.  Horrible things.  Am gradually working my way back the source to try and dig them out but I suspect they will have roots next door so will continue to keep appearing.  Next door is currently empty, having been occupied by a lovely little old lady who died.  It's been sold now, so hopefully when the new owner arrives they'll be better at keeping their side of the fence clear.

The lady's son and daughter gave us a lovely box of chocs yesterday, as they were there cleaning the house ready for its new occupant - as a thank you to us for being such nice neighbours for their mum.  So unexpected but such a nice surprise!

Off to the annual sculpture trail in a bit.  Hope the rain holds off...

    Hi all

Quite a nice day for a BH. I have done my first weeding since the new hip. Kneeling is not a problem, for short periods, but getting down and then up again requires the use of a suitable support.

Glued to Tele watching the bike race in Spain. Terrible wet weather for the poor guys. Lots of crashes.  Amazing mountains though which makes it wonderful to watch.

Also, miracle of miracles, we had heavy rain here as well. Must remember to check the rain gauge in the morning.

Just seen a struggling bee (looks drunk) on my patio.

Am I imagining that we had this discussion around the same time last year?

I forgot to post this video of the festival of Saint Rock where the local priest and the mayor bless the horses.  I hope this brings you a little sunshine and the South of France.
