I'm not sleeping well just now either @AnnaB, although I'm hoping mine is a temporary issue - hot flushes seem to be worse at night but it comes and goes - just seem to be at a bit of a peak just now. Quiet day here - mild and cloudy - hopefully will get some weeding done once my chores are done and the washing's all out on the line

    Hi all

    Lovely and sunny here.
Had a bit of a set back on my walk today, suddenly felt very ill and was resting against a tree when a vey old lady walked past and offered me assistance! It slowly dissipated and I made my way home. Still not feeling right though.

I really feel for you @AnnaB having disturbed sleep really is the worst. I can’t remember the last time I slept through the whole night, it’s very frustrating. I hope your daughter has a safe journey back also!

Oh @Dovefromabove I bet it was very hard being at the farm without your brother, my heart goes out to you. I bet he’ll have a lovely send off though, you’ll do him proud.

It’s very windy here but luckily it’s not raining for once so I’ll finally get out in the garden and do some weeding. My grass needs a good cut too it’s like a jungle out there.
The water finally came back on at 10am this morning so I was able to have that cup of tea!

Thankfully daughter returned home safely as expected mid morning. Reported that weather wasn't too bad just windy and the occasional real downpour in the middle of drizzly rain. The rain and winds have now passed us by but still overcast and cloudy.
My sympathies to you @Dovefromabove, it cannot have been easy to visit the farm without your brother being there, but general talks and planning for the funeral must have been helpful to everyone.
Take it steady @punkdoc, is it possible that all the trauma plus the drugs that may be trying to 'exit' your system may have caused this present upset? Hopefully you will soon be back on your way to a full recovery.
Lovely amount of firewood there @Pat E, will you be able to make use of some of it now or just store it for next winter?
Glad your water is now reconnected @Teacup, nothing worse than not being able to have a cuppa when you need one.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
Thanks for all your kind thoughts everyone … I must say, it’s been quite a year so far 🙄
    Hope you’re feeling ok today @punkdoc  🤗.
    It’s a beautiful morning here …

AnnaB, we are still cold here and it’s still snowing at Perisher and other places nearby, so we have kept the fire going night and day. 🥶  anyway, we will continue to cut up fallen timber and store is safely, before our bushfire season starts. 😳. Can’t win, it seems.

We might have a trip to town today which is very rare for us because our routine was mucked up with the dozer here over the last couple of days. We are getting a bit short of a couple things. Nothing serious, but irritating.

    Sleep well all.

    Good morning everyone.

Afternoon @Pat E  Stay warm.   Yes @Dovefromabove it's been quite a year for you.  Hopefully the rest of the year will be stable.

Summer's day too but we are having very high temperatures as are the rest of the English contingent here.     The night's aren't at all cool and the days are exceeding 30°C into 36°C which is expected here today!!  My brassica won't be at all happy with this.  We will have this weather all week and in a way it's good as it's probably the final holiday week for tourists.  So it looks like your son will have a ripper of a holiday in Biarritz @Lizzie27   Luckily, there's no wind to fan any fires.

Morning all, we're just having breakfast and watching the sunshine break through - hopefully it will warm up a bit as well as we're going to an outside picnic lunch with friends later. My contribution is only going to be a bought Quiche Lorraine and a Raspberry Cheesecake, easy to pack and transport I thought.

OH had a very long day at his car club meeting yesterday and had an hour's delay on the A34 near Oxford for some reason, presumably an accident somewhere. He was shattered when he got home so went to bed quite early.

I've been advised that I can start to reduce the steroids gradually, two pills one day and three the next so have very carefully marked them up. That's for three weeks and I can then reduce them again. I have noticed I haven't coughed once since taking them which can only be a good thing.

As you say @Dovefromabove, it's certainly been a very tough year for you all. Hopefully next year will be better.

Enjoy your Sunday folks, whatever you have planned.

Hi @Dovefromabove. I am so sorry about your brother, I clearly missed your posts about it. My condolences.

I never sleep well but last night I was also thinking about the happenings of the day: went to the funeral of the 22 years' old. In a strange way it was lovely, he was a young baroque musician so all his friends and his dad played music on period violas and cellos. Lots of funny anecdotes about his short life. I can't imagine what it must have been like for the parents because he was almost a year in a coma. I don't even know if, in the end, they had to take the most dreadful decision of their lives.

Well, today is sunny, hubby picking the rest of the mirabelles. I pottered about with him for a while, picked some flowers all the time thinking about how unfair life can be.

BUT have a lovely Sunday every single one of you.
