This morning I was painting a rather rustic built in cupboard on the landing. The landing is all pine panelled and painted in creamy beige, orangey beige gloss and dark brown varnish. It all looked very dark and frumpy. I started painting it all white a while ago but it's been on hold. I've found a mat white renovating paint for the undercoat that says it will stick to any surface even gloss. Too hot to paint this afternoon, the landing gets very warm.

It's too hot @Busy-Lizzie  Just take it easy this week.  You have rain Saturday - in fact everyone has rain - except for here.  Here is the weather map for tomorrow:

    Evening folks.

I think I would melt at 38 odd degrees! I was hoping for a few days of 25 ish before Summer is out though, or at least a warm September (love a warm September as it feels like a bonus bit tagged onto the end of Summer).

Welcome back @chicky - sounds an amazing place 🐘.

    Go easy everyone.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
Hope everyone’s had a restful night … we woke to bright sunshine and blue sky but it’s changed and is overcast now and 16C with a gusty breeze rattling the wooden blinds.

    Morning everybody.
We're forecast the reverse @Dovefromabove, it's very overcast now with no wind but it's expected to change to brilliant sunshine by 11 am. I'm not so sure and undecided what to wear as we're going into town to do some shopping. Will wait and see as it's early yet.

Then we've got a chap coming in the afternoon to look at the drive and give us a quote.

Think we’ve got a sunny afternoon coming @Lizzie27 😊. Hopefully the weather will be kind for the next little while … son will be working his first full festival since the explosion. From tomorrow night he’ll be sleeping in a caravan on site (all electric… no gas!) with his friend K who came and helped lift him in and out of the bath in the early days of recovery. K will apply son’s creams at least four times a day and be his PA/gofer. The festival are paying him … they’re just so glad son can run the main stage again.
We had hoped to go to the festival to see him at work, but OHs workplace are short staffed (illness) and they’ve been hugely supportive of OH while he’s been getting his foot sorted out … and they credited him with paid compassionate leave every time he accompanied me on trips to the burns unit on a work day. OH feels that to ask for yet another favour would be taking the p just a bit, so @WonkyWomble and her Lovely Hub are going to have our guest tickets. They’ll have a marvellous time. 😎

That sounds well organized Dove, hope your son enjoys being back in the thick of it. What festival is it? Shame that you can't make it but understandable in the circumstances. Wonky and her OH will enjoy it anyway, will be a nice treat for them.

The sunshine has just appeared and the cloud is rolling away so that sorts my clothes dilemma out. It's supposed to be 18c which is just perfect for shopping so jeans and a lightweight top it is. I've got a new pretty pink cotton top that I haven't had much chance to wear since I became ill. Will have to take my walking stick  with me as I still feel lightheaded and a bit dizzy sometimes when walking, not sure why and the GP didn't know either!

    welcome back @chicky.
We spent a wonderful holiday touring Sri Lanka.
We went to the Sigiriya rock fortress too.
A beautiful country and beautiful people.
Loved Sigiriya - although the level of paranoia that drove him to create a kingdom up there is mind boggling 🤪.

Back to normality here - Dementia Centre support group this afternoon plus a few errands to run.
