Morning all, just a quick dip in. It's been 18c overnight here,25c plus in the days. Pretty much hot sunny around mid August when Eastbourne airshow is on. We had a little fine rain last Friday. Hope you are all ok. I'm still black and blue from last weeks blood tests.

Sounds like you had an amazing time @chicky.  Great pics.

Sorry for all our friends in France sweltering in the heat.  I have no idea what the temperature actually is here in Suffolk, but it suits me just fine - and not too hot at night for sleeping.

No gardening today as I have a hair appointment but I'm pleased with the progress I've made so far, removing things that died or unwanted things that got a bit too comfortable while my back was turned.  Into this category come the philadelphus (died) and field maple  (unwanted, too big) - but removing them is a big job which will have to wait until its a bit cooler.  I think I'll put a rose or two there...

I was looking at 27.5 during the night in my bedroom 🥵 so very little sleep.  Did go to the pool this morning and lovely it was too even with some screaming kids.

Ouch, just had the quote for replacement driveway - eyewateringly expensive! Trouble is, the old driveway is very old (1980's?) and cracking up with tree root heave so I think we're going to have to bite the bullet and get it redone. More quotes to come hopefully.

Really enjoyed our trip to town. We used our nearest P & R for the first time, free for us and the bus dropped us at the top of town where we wanted to go. Enjoyed a coffee al fresco in the sunshine and bought some bits and bobs, then bused back again. Might do that again now they moved our usual bus service stop further away at the bottom of a steep hill. It does mean driving up to the P & R though which we've always been against but we're not getting any younger.

Good evening all.  Mercury hit 42°C outside this arvo.  I was shuttered inside with air-con but on 30°C - any lower and it's too extreme when you venture outside.

Busy morning.  Gave some tomatoes to an elderly neighbour  - cycled down to the village fore it got too hot for a couple of things.  Washed the dog before the water in the hose got too hot - she was getting a bit ripe!  Stuffed some tomatoes and peppers for lunch (should do tomorrow) and then settled in for the afternoon.  Ventured out around 6pm.  There is a bit of a breeze.

Garden to water a little later on.  Lots of complaints from various people this morning about the state of their vegetable garden.  Another disaster this year which has boosted prices of local produce.

Light meal consumed.  Now to settle in for the evening!!  Sleep well @coccinella - it won't last according to the weather lady.  @floralies I hope you are all right - best to stay inside after 10ish and sit it out.

@tui34 yes I'm ok'ish thanks for asking, the heat is something else isn't it? I see we have gone up to red alert for tomorrow. I have a hospital appt. in the morning, I really don't want to go! I hope the air con is on!

Oh dear, 36° tomorrow, here, not as bad as @floralies though. It was 30° in my bedroom earlier, I opened the window this evening so should be a little cooler now.

I've almost finished painting the undercoat on the landing, can't do it in the afternoons, too hot. I go to the sitting room, was 25° this afternoon there, once was an old stone barn with thick walls.

I hope the other drive estimates will be cheaper @Lizzie27, fingers crossed.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
It’s a beautiful morning … blue sky and sunshine. I’ve done Wordle and have been battling with someone who thinks we should be interested in plastic water meter covers, compression whatnots and water flow thingummies … 🥱

Hurrah! my second coffee has arrived 😎
