Good morning Rosie and all arriving later. It looks like today is going to be lovely. Looking forward to meeting up with Bestie when we will be planning next weeks visit to the Southport Flower Show.
T'Bird, I am pleased you are enjoying the academic immersion again. I am never more happy then when I learn something new - doesn't always have to be academic but it reminds me that there is so much I don't know.

Good morning all. Dry and sunny here but I am off to work. Meal at my friends last night with my sister. My sister is struggling a bit at the moment her youngest daughter (15) has been diagnosed with an eating disorder and anxiety. Not an easy situation for anyone. I do worry about young people these days life seems so hard on them.
    Those cakes sound delicious @Ladybird4
    Enjoy your day everyone

    Good morning Debs and SGL.
Debs, I m so sorry to read about your niece. Unfortunately these stories about young people are happening more and more often. Like you I find the whole situation and the pressures nowadays placed on young people deeply concerning. Fingers crossed that work today will help you concentrate for a little while on other things.
SGL, hope you have a pleasant day today.

    Morning all.

An overflow thingy under the hot water tank had been dripping as the plastic was deteriorating. I was thinking of calling the plumber, but yesterday we went to the DIY place for something OH wanted and I saw an overflow thingy that looked like it. I bought it and it was exactly the same so OH has fitted it. That's a relief because soon I'll be on my own again.

OH is going back to Norfolk in a week's time. His time in Europe will run out otherwise and he won't be able to come back here in October. Bl**dy Brexit. I will stay another month as I have some family things to go to here.

There was a big storm early this morning, grey, wet and a bit misty outside, but not raining now. I won't have to water anything today.

The mole, another one, has tunelled under plants in the orchard fence bed. Some plants were looking unhappy yesterday. 😫😡

No plans for today, except for doing Son 2's birthday album.

    Good morning,
very warm here today, and similar forecast for tomorrow, then that’s it, normal service will be resumed 😂.
We managed to get one of the hedges trimmed yesterday. Unfortunately, I did something to my lower back after moving pots about, so it’s on the sore side today. Decided to give my Pilates class a miss as I don’t want to make things worse, I’ll let it settle down a bit first. I’m annoyed with myself, but the thing is, I never felt anything twinge whilst doing the garden, it set in later. I must remember I’m not 20 any more 😁.
Yes, @Busy-Lizzie, B….t has a lot to answer for in many ways.
Hope you can sort out your mole problem. I had slugs attacking my pepper plants, but set a beer trap and managed to trap four of the little devils.
Hope everyone has a good day.
