Good morning @Biglad and all following on. Had a super night last night - we didn't win but hey, it was a quiz so what's not to like! Have to say that yet again I woke to rain again this morning so I do hope its drier where you are for your delivery duties.

    Morning everyone.
Been awake for awhile, up now and downstairs sitting on my comfy sofa @Biglad hope you managed to get some sleep.
We had sunshine yesterday too. Doesn't look quite as good this morning, supposed to rain this afternoon. Although as from tomorrow apparently the heatwave should arrive.
Sorry to hear your wife has shingles  @rowlandscastle444 hope she feels better soon. I had shingles a few years ago, I've never known pain like it, it was awful.  I was prescribed cream too and a very strong pain killer, can't remember the name....so hope the neurofen works for her.
@Songbird-2 sorry to hear you have a rash too. Hope you're not in any discomfort.
@Rubee sorry your OH is in so much discomfort still. Sending very best wishes to you both.
Got to pop out this morning, hoping to get back before it rains.
Need another cup of tea ☕️

We had a brief shower a couple of hours ago @Ladybird4 but it looks pretty bright now. Thursday/Friday look like being the epicentre of our brief late summer.

I do like a quiz. Many moons ago a group of us entered the local quiz league. We were all in our twenties and found ourselves up against older folk, who generally drank bitter :D  We did pretty well but overlapped massively in some areas, whilst being clueless in others. A more diverse team with a greater range of 'specialist' subjects is the key isn't it? For example, for sport I'm University Challenge level. Greek mythology? Where's that dunce cap?

Good morning SGL. Hope that you manage to dodge the rain showers that are about. I'm hoping things improve later. Still haven't had chance to confirm visiting the Ozzies. What is it with young people nowadays who walk around with mobile phones grafted to the palms of their hands yet they are possibly some of the worst communicators in the universe?!

@Biglad, you are right about diversity. I'm the lone female on our team and for some weird reason they seem to think I will know all the answers to questions on baking ingredients for example! Hah, as if!
p.s. they soon stopped stereotyping me!

I often see young folk stepping into the road unable to look first because they're transfixed by whatever irrelevance they're staring at on their horrific device. However, as you say @Ladybird4, if you trying ringing them or sending a message via the kazillion different avenues now available, don't expect an answer anytime soon :D

Good morning all. Not read back. Had a busy week off but still struggling with some health and family issues. Hope all here are well and have at least some sunshine.
Fiancé left his job on Sunday and is looking into agency work. It’s a shame but unfortunately when big chains take over local pubs they invariably change and not for the better.
Take care everyone and enjoy your Tuesday

    Good morning all.

T'bird, I'll do my best, but can't promise anything. 😁 The weather is mad last few weeks.

Another sunny and coldish morning. I came quite late yesterday, but all work is done, and new fence is on the place. I was alone, so it took me little bit more time that I expected. SM is done before tourists get up and make crowd. Now I can have my breakfast and tea, and have rest of the day for resting.

Good morning Debs, good to see you back but sorry to read about the health and family issues. I hope that you found some rest during your week off and fingers crossed that your fiancé finds a happier situation to be working in.
@Biglad, an incident I witnessed with a youngster engrossed in his mobile, which did bring a smile to my face, was when he walked into a lamp post. I do worry about those you mention who will step out into a road without even thinking.
