I am quizzing in Bolton again tonight so will be recording the TV quizzes - no spoilers please. I will see you all in the morning. I am hoping I might be able to catch up with my Ozzie rellies tomorrow as well. Enjoy your evenings all. Ante, I hope that you got your fence sorted. Yvie if you look in I hope that your wrist is recovered now. Debs, are you back from your holiday? T'Bird - vestra frui cursum. Before anyone asks I have to thank Professor Google for that.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Tried all sorts LB, including antihistamines. I'll wait a bit longer and see how it develops. Enjoy your quizzing and hope you catch up with your rellies tomorrow.ย
@rowlandscastle444, I was a medical professional I suppose. I was a nurse but some time ago. I've also had chicken pox as a child and shingles as an adult. You cannot catch shingles if you haven't had chickenpox. @steveTu is correct. Maybe your wife had it very mildly when she was a child.
I hope a solution is found for your mystery rash @Songbird-2.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Thank you, @Busy-Lizzie It would seem that way. Both my wife (and her mum, when she was alive), were adamant that she'd never had chicken pox. Based on today's diagnosis, they must have been wrong.ย
I can't understand how anyone can be a medical professional. If someone is in pain, I feel some of that discomfort. I struggle to see others suffer. Watching the one I love, suffer, is so hard. Most of our marriage, she's the one who has had to watch me suffer. Now I know some of the pain she has been through. I admire her for that.
I've had a quiet day, mostly doing a Photobox album for Son 2's birthday. I've been scanning loads of photos from the family albums, then they all need editing.
This afternoon we went to buy a grey metal cupboard for the open barn, to put gardening tool, string, gloves etc in. Someone had advertised it on the local English website. There are about 8000 English people on that site, advertising stuff for sale, services, gardeners wanted, gites for rent, help with French admin etc.

@rowlandscastle444, it's true when people say " walk a mile in their shoes" and it soon changes one's perception doesn't it?ย @Busy-Lizzie, you've had a productive day sorting the album out for your son, I would imagine it will be great for him and the family to look back on and in years to come, too. Good idea. The site where things are for sale /rent etc sounds interesting and cutting out the middle man and the costs too.ย Rosie, @wfnp5bk4spsSNFYKh1 , hope this morning went okay for you? Did you get the door /repair sorted?ย Signing out for today. Night all.ย
Thank you LB. The course is very challenging. I am very much the duffer in class but today everybody was struggling and even the teacher couldn't make much sense of 2 of the documents we were working on... I am enjoying floundering around in the deep end and meeting some nice people but we're all absolutely exhausted. Concentrating hard for hours when you're 27 requires an early night and we don't finish until about 9.30pm.
Looks like this week will be the best for a while, weather-wise. First time for a good few weeks that it has been dry for Monday morning volunteering. The sun actually shone!
I'm hoping to get the delivering done and dusted by the end of this week. Maybe even kick on with a bit in the garden as well ย ย

@rowlandscastle444 - best wishes to your wife.
@Ante1 - can you get that weather sorted out before the second week of September please!
Time for sleep now.
