Good morning Busy - could it be dining in the open sided barn again? Well assuming the rain doesn't blow inside. I am sure you will have a good catch up whatever the weather.

Morning all. Grey, cool and breezy here. Need to cut OH's hair then might see if the grass is dry enough to cut. Also need to sort out stuff for the weekend. Have been very good about doing a couple of hours of Latin most days but I'm still very, very lacking in grammar and vocab. Slightly apprehensive about the course but I'm sure I'll still enjoy meeting new people and the whole geeky vibe!

Rosie - you have taken me on a trip down memory lane. Macrame plant pot holders! I may even have had a go at making one. Certainly made a triangular wall hanging with wooden beads on. Used to do a lot of crochet too becase that was also all the rage at the time.

What with Hazel in her green shoes you and macrame somebody will be mentioning purple velvet loons soon. Oh - that could be me! Nice shade of burgundy they were...

Morning everyone,  it rained heavily yesterday evening. Must have rained overnight too, still looks very wet outside. Grey and breezy here too, but at least its not raining at the moment.
Eldest son came round night, so lovely to have him to myself for a few hours. Did us both good to chat.
Popping to SM this morning for a few bits. Hopefully I'll get back while it's still dry.
    Have a lovely day everyone.
  • Lily you’ll have been pleased to see your eldest for a visit.  I’ve been to the sm this morning too a week of weight watchers as put on a pound.  LB I’ve been to Brighton many times.  I had a weekend break there and enjoyed the fish and chips.  Topbird I know I’ve had a go and made a pot hanger a long time ago though.  Rosie

Morning all. Damp and drizzly here as per normal. Have picked up another load of petals that were strewn all over the place. Had an early dash to SM and now waiting for sM delivery. Then OH is at dentists this afternoon.
SGL, nice to have some one on one time with your son. It will have done you both the power of good to talk everything over. It helps along the way.
LB, enjoy your First Aid Course , that'll be interesting and different for you. Also, hope you have a good play with bairn.
  • LB I did a first aid course when I was a volunteer years ago hiring out a local church hall.  It was with St John’s Ambulance and we had a resusc dummy and some bandaging it.  I came away with a Certificate so no doubt you’ll get one.  Rosie

Finally got back home from dentists after waiting around for ages, with people coming and going behind /in front of us. Went to query this at receptionist who then admitted she hadn't ticked OH in😦😕 Very busy on roads with some mad drivers about, one lad must have lost an inch of tyre as he screeched off from being stationary..and then again when he changed gears. Mad.

Have spoken to mum who sounds really cheery and seems to be settling in. She is venturing around the home on her own or with the carers help and is socialising with some other residents. Brother has been unable to visit her though as he has caught a covid after being away on holiday.

  • It's been a reasonable day, here in Kent. Cooler, and somewhat overcast much of the time, but when the sun comes out, it's pleasant enough. I'm expecting rain over the next few days, starting this evening. I've no plans to go out tonight.

I took first aid courses through work, was the company fire officer, and seemingly responsible for all the things no-one else really wanted to do. Suited me fine. Gave me time off to do the courses, and extra pay.

But I've never used a defibrillator. Sounds challenging, @Ladybird4
