Good evening all. I had a really informative and interesting course. Using the defibrillator seems to be very straightforward as the machine literally tells you exactly what to do and when. It made me smile when we were shown a razor as part of the kit. This is for any hairy chest that presents itself as the pads stick better to bare skin. I kept thinking about Vinny Jones and the song 'Stayin' Alive'. How about this for a new yet sad piece of knowledge. All the faces of the Resusci Annie models are based on the death mask of a young teenage girl who was pulled from the Seine in the 1800's. Good knowledge for a Pub Quiz.
T'Bird and Rosie, I have three macrame pot holders in my house and my loons were a brick red colour with bells on them.
SGL, lovely to spend some quality time with your son.
Hazel, what a nightmare at the dentist's but it must have really raised your spirits and reassured you to hear that your Mum is settling.
Biglad it was so nice when I finally hit home that I was able to put wet cloth things on the string thing in the garden. Will be bringing them in shortly.
I am signing out for tonight. See you all tomorrow.

Hazel I’m so pleased mum is feeling more settled and enjoying some company. I hope your brother soon feels better and able to visit. LB I’m glad you enjoyed the course and have a rest now. Night night all. Rosie
We had a lovely day with my niece and family. We had the first course of lunch on the patio then the heavens opened so we had to rush into the dining room to finish our lunch. Then the sun came out again so we took photos of each other in the garden. The children have grown, it is 4 years since I last saw them. It was on their home ground in West Yorkshire the last time.
I couldn't believe when I saw Wilko may be closing on the News this evening. I often go there when in Norfolk. I have just seen there is a new thread about it on this site.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
LB, I've seen a few documentaries about the girl being used for the face of the rescusi models.Really poignant, she was only young too. Interesting to know the defies give instructions. A gentleman from our town did lots of fundraising, years ago, to get a defib put up in our town after his brother died and the use of one of the machines could have saved his life if there was available. ( he died in the town centre). I've seen one in the centre, up on the wall. Signing out for tonight. Sleep well everyone, if you can.
Morning everyone. Just had a refreshing wash after breakfast and several cups of tea. Hope the night owls managed some sleep. Rosie. I used to buy my hamster’s, Lucy Hathaway, bedding from Wilko and nut bars which she loved.
I hope you have a lovely day in Durham and that the weather is kind to you.
Busy, I heard that Wilco is struggling. That will be another big shop on the high street in the travesty that is now my town closing. I can see the tumbleweed blowing through down the thoroughfare.

Congratulations and very best wishes on your golden wedding anniversary @Songbird-2 Hope you have a wonderful day together going down memory lane, where your life together all began. Hope the weather is kind to you Hazel. More memories to make together.. ❤🍾🥂🍾🥂🍾❤ xx
Morning everyone, Another grey day, but at the moment it's dry. Do hope we get some sunshine soon. I heard about Wilko too @Ladybird4 I was surprised to hear they were in trouble. Our nearest store is huge. I'll miss getting bits and bobs from there. There won't be many stores left . Goodness knows where we will be able to shop soon, as you say @Ladybird4 towns will be empty.
Venturing out to collect the electoral canvassing letters this morning - more postie duties! I've got 2 weeks (3 weekends) to deliver them so I might get straight on it if it is dry....
