    Afternoon all.

I got my day off ‘for’ the Men’s Semi-Finals 🎾 so just settled down with a pot of coffee to watch.

Great to hear from patient @punkdoc - I hope you are behaving.

I’ve missed too much chat to reply to individuals, so a general ‘take care’ to all.

Non stop rain since first thing here too ☔️

Ha, yes the old phrase be careful what you wish for springs to mind. About 40 minutes after I posted the rain finally came and it hasn't really stopped all day. We went to our favourite GC,  got some bark chip to top up the area down the bottom of the garden,  and some fennel seeds, OH picked up a couple of Dahlias to drop into the beds that are lacking colour and we had lunch out.
Watched the first semi final,  just in from greenhouse,  pricking out the next batch of lettuce,  the rain was quite loud at times.  The garden and plots really needed it.

@Pat E … that knitting pattern … I meant to say, there’s an error on it.  That 6.5” is totally wrong. I find
3” about right … a fraction longer for larger hands.  Hope that helps. 😊

Hope @punkdoc has been suitably dosed up with some strong medication and is getting some decent rest. I suspect they’ll be sending him home tomorrow once they’ve resolved the catheter issue.
It has rained solidly all day here. Luckily, we took advantage of a sunny spell yesterday afternoon and finished trimming the laurel hedges round the front drive. Shredded most of the prunings and one green bin is half full. The rabbits are helping with keeping the grass down, and the unopened flower on the magnolia grandiflora is still there, and hasn’t as yet been eaten by the deer or squirrels.

Thanks Dove. I’ll make a note of that. I’ve been busy sewing up two sets of gloves to send to my sister who I’ve belately been told that she doesn’t knit any more because of sight problems 😳. First I’d heard of that. Grrr. Never mind, she might feel uncomfortable telling me. She’s five years older the me and lives too far from us for Hubby to make the trip nowadays. We just keep in touch through computer.

I ended up leaving the washing on the line last night because I was too tired to bother getting it in. Now, this morning the wind is blowing large branches waving in all directions, so I assume the washing is wrapped all around the line. Must go out soon and have a look. 😉

I hope you’re all ok over there with the heat mentioned on the news.

    Hi all

Rather dopey, sorting out pain relief. Catheter out ( brilliant) ideally I should be kept in hospital for a few more days, due to my other problems, but shortage of beds suggests I will be kicked out soon.

    Good morning all!

Glad to see an appearance @punkdoc  - how does it feel when you walk?  I imagine the physio has been to see you and "forced" you onto your feet.  Home is the best place to convalesce but if you have other problems then hospital is better.  I don't know what it's like in the UK but there is just skeleton staff during the weekend.  No entries, no exits.

Overcast and humid here.  Typical Bastille weather.  Not good for frizzy wizzies like me.  Friends coming today for a one night stay, so that'll be nice.

I hope everyone has a pleasant weekend and could you please send some of your rain down this way, please?

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
Hope the pain meds work ok @punkdoc … I’m sure you’ll be fine at home with Moira keeping an eye on you.
We have sunshine this morning and no sign of the high winds… yet …

Hope you are starting to feel more comfortable, Punkdoc. Great to have the catheter out, have they started you on movicol or similar for bowels? Good to get them working ASAP as I found from my recent experiences! Best bit was getting the cannula out of the back of my hand, kept knocking it on everything, very annoying. You’ll probably sleep better at home?

    Morning all.

It will get a bit better each day @punkdoc.

I got rained off yesterday morning, dead heading roses, Ballerina and Albertine. We went to the recycling with 2 big sacks of garden rubbush. The brown bin is full to burst and they only come fortnightly. It tipped with rain all day.

In the afternoon we went to an SM to buy stuff to take back to France for us and the family that you can't get there.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
