Thank you for your kind thoughts and suggestion. Sorry I was a bit down yesterday when I posted. Today I just relaxed and sat outside in several different spots and just watched the life going on around me. It's so surprising what you notice when you are quiet, still and just observe nature being busy. The birds busy on the bird table and the feeders, the bees humming around their favourite plants, even a couple of large dragonflies dodging around the pond plus one of the smaller variety who popped on to my hand for a few moments to say Hi. The dogs seemed to catch the mood as well and spent most of the day either just wandering around or stretched out on the lawn relaxing. Our elderly cat (she's 19) who also had a 'I'm really feeling my age' day yesterday seemed to have had a lifting of her spirits today and spent all of her time outside with us keeping us all supervised. She's now curled up on my bed so guess I had better join her. All is well with the world.
Terrible nights sleep, but at least we have had some rain. What were you up for at 2.27, @Dovefromabove Sorry, @Pat E but Australians are not very popular in this house today, after their shenanigans at the cricket yesterday.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Up at sparrow's fart this morning to spray the weeds in the gravel but it was too breezy so I watered the front garden well and it's now breakfast. A tractor went past at 4.18am this morning - on its way to spray the vineyards before the breeze came up.
Picked my first tomatoes and cucumber over the weekend. How delightful to have that natural taste of a real tomato!!
I do hope you are feeling a little better @AnnaB and your "down" mood passes. We all have them. Some more than others and there's not a damn thing we can do about them. To be able to sit outside and appreciate the noises around is calming - for a while. Good luck with your pre-assessment op appointment @punkdoc You will be glad you had the operation afterwards when you can put your foot on the floor and there's no pain in the hip.
@Pat E Little violence around this area but there has been a lot of looting and vandalism and mayors houses in various areas are being targeted.
The wind has come up now but I will get on my bike and run the dog. After watering earlier, my knee is starting to get tight a bit - again.

Good morning all 😊 ☕️ At 2:27 this morning @punkdoc my brain decided to start worrying about something I could do absolutely nothing about until later today 🙄 so I needed to do something to reset my brain … I had a little look on here (replied to a query) and then snuggled down to listen to an Infinite Monkey Cage podcast … it worked 😊

I saw something on TV, Punkdoc, about cricketers getting upset in the UK, but I didn’t understand what had happened. Perhaps you can explain in plain language for me. 😳
Good luck for your pre-op assessment @punkdoc. I hope your op goes ahead as planned.
Glad you felt better yesterday @AnnaB. OH says there aren't enough sitting places in my French garden. He's going to buy me a small gazebo to sit in. All I'm thinking of is choosing the roses to climb up it! I'm not much of a sitter - yet!
We visited another fabulous garden yesterday, privately owned, opened with the NGS for charity.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Basically what happened @Pat E is that the Australian team stumped one of our players in a manner which, although technically within the rules of the game, has until now been considered to be unsportsmanlike.
I suspect that ‘gloves are now off’ in this Ashes series …

Has anyone heard from DD? France doesn’t sound very good at the mo.
